Hi all, long time reader, first time poster... I read the comments section of an article on the roar. A former storm insider gave his insights on what madge looks for when recruiting. Interesting stuff and in my opinion sheds him in good light:

“ When I was at the Storm we called it “the cuppa test”. In other words if the Head Coach did not like you then it was irrelevant how good your video and stats analysis was. Club founder John Ribot told me that if you would not invite them to your home to dinner or babysit your kids then they cant make our team.
That philosophy is massive with the Wests Tigers Head Coach Michael McGuire. I have never seen anyone talk to players like he does in an interview as his focus is on the players family, his upbringing and goals.

As someone who remembers the sl war if the
Storm are set up on the morals of ribot let's just say wts should aim higher

They were my thoughts as well and that Ribot would definitely not be welcome for a cuppa.

Wasn't Ribot a Western Suburbs player?

Secondrower wasn't he and shifted to the wing when at Manly?

No, Masters shifted him to the wing when he was at Wests. He went from being an average second rower to a very fast, powerhouse winger who ened up playing for Australia.

Has anyone heard this a friend of mine a Souffs supporter says he was told that Souffs and WT's are going to play a trial game in Hawaii in 2021 I'm aware we were to play Saints but this fell through if true sounds promising start saving guys

If it is on - two questions need to be asked.

1 Can you trust them.

2 Will they call it off and then show up.

No, Masters moved him to the wing at wests, where he became an instant success, played origin and for Australia, it was then Manly came with the cheque book

FWIW their insider, similar to the Pom, says they can fit LM without releasing AJ or Gagai...

But...they are worried about their balance. Ie too many backs : they want to add a Pommy forward.

So, they need Gagai to GC or AJ to us to balance their squad.

He's not the Chairman either, he's the CEO.

Like Masterton said, Pascoe said an announcement possible this week, and it was Musgrove. Independently in another comment he said one of the things Tigers were looking for with future signings was speed.

How anyone takes that into "we are about to sign a fast winger" is beyond me, such Trumpian listening skills, hear what you want.

Even the Titans and Knights have been able to sign quality players over the last few years and they have been on the bottom of the ladder fighting for the spoon...
