News is AJ wants to see out his contract with Souths and is determined to stay put. Let's see how that works out for him. On the other hand Marwene Hiroti is very keen. He's on a train and trial with the Sharks but his preference is the Tigers, most likely more opportunities.

Wheee did you see that?

A source at Souths

That’s a shame and surprising. With us has the chance to play fullback and get good money. There’s a chance with Souths he doesn’t make first grade. Weird.

He might stick it out til June. But when he’s In reggies behind

Mitchell
Graham
Burns

Gagai

He probably changes his mind.

So will Thompson be fullback come round 1?

If tigers are SERIOUSLY after a fullback and a fullback only (Not utility) but want to save money for a NAME winger or centre then they really should go after edwards or aetkins only. Both off contract 2020 both gunning for the same spot in the same team. They rate VERY highly on the VFM ranks

Catching is not one of Edwards' strengths. Pace is also not a strength.

He does look like Tintin though.

If you can sign Douehi or addo carr in the same money you sign Josh every day of the week. Why on earth would souths have paid such massive overs for an unproven kid when they still had a talented squad?

It's funny how much clubs say a player is on when they are about to release him.

Roosters playbook 101.

Jayden Nikorima was easily on $950K, hence why Cronk slotted right in.

How about we take Douhie on full wage if south's give us Gagai for Packer in a straight swap

Nobody wants Gagai except Queensland - a club plodder.

Tigers want Packer though.

Righto, I’m gonna put it out there:

Packer to have a huge year for Tigers, leading a young pack with aggression and intimidation.

Yep paving the way for our halves to create space and overlaps for a backline that’s continually gets run down by the oppositions’ backrowers 10 metres out from the line.

Meanwhile over at Redfern, there’s a bunch of speedy backs filing their nails and catching colds, whilst waiting for their forward pack to make a dent in the opposition’s defensive line so they can actually get the ball in their hands.

JAC mate. Within 48 hours I’m led to believe

Stefano Utoikamanu. Adam Douhei will be the next two signed. We will have one spot left for a pre June 30 move. I would assume some final year players may be moved on before June 30 ET, Eisenhuth, Jennings, McQueen. Our roster management has been good Douhei will be a good 6 when Benji retires.

You seem pretty confident and have had reliable news in the past

So are you confident in your source?

Yes. But they are outside Tigers control. Rabbits (100k chip in) Eels (Stefano) have to play ball. It would likely also take Storm (Tino), Titans (Arrow) releasing players. I’m told we are out on JAC also or more specifically he’s not considering us.

If we are in the running for JAC, let's not make it easy for Souths to clear some space by signing doueihi first. Sign JAC then doueihi

So if true, where is the pace coming from in the backline? Both our existing wingers are far too slow. Is the Club making efforts to free up spots in the top 30 to promote our young backs? Solutions need to be found now and not wait to hope another club can't fit a player in.

Wouldn't surprise me. They usually get who they want without much effort.

Phillip Sami would of been a good pick up. Titans did well to get him signed up.

If tigers want a “name” for the back line then JAC is the name but really his price v others probably not worth it if you can nab cotric for example. Okunbor ratings will probably go through the roof this coming season as wel.

Would like Cotric but he is a Canberra junior and I cant see him leaving. JAC I see as having higher value to us than other clubs, as the prodigal son and also as that source of speed to finish things.

As always, this place is binary....AJ would be great/rubbish, Sami would be good.

Never binary. AJ would be better than Sami, but not at the $$ he will cost.

Being a junior these days doesn't carry as much importance as it once did its all about salary cap these days and who you have to fit under it $$$ & TPA's rule.Looking at Canberra they have a lot of good quality players who will expect extra when resigning so go big or stay out Cotric would be an excellent pick up for the
WT's.

JAC to Rossters makes some sense. They have lost Cronk and Mitchell and replaced with nsw cup players so would have money available. Also already have Morris, Tupou, Hall to swap from a wing point of view

I am still stunned Doueihi is on 500K. There is NO way Souths are cap compliant if he's on something that insane when they have Gagai, AJ, Walker, Reynolds etc etc etc

Also forgot they brought back Bryson Goodwin. Just collecting backs...

How relevant is nepotism in contract negotiations? When a coach realises it’s time to move on ? Particularly if two coaches are swapping jobs. As was the case with bunnies and bucking broncos.

Outer suburb of Canberra

Can anyone think of a player we have not yet spoken to? C’mon, put your thinking caps (no pun intended) on. We need 2 players before end of March and the cash is ready to splash but we not gonna pay overs! Think guys?!
