Oh right ok. I guess with those situations where there are two offers on the table there'd be a lot of back and forth.

I'm slightly confused , I'm 100% behind us trying to support our indigenous players on and off field , but hiring a assistant coach based on the fact he is indigenous

Maybe I'm too far away , but I've never heard of the bloke before

He was with WT'S last year and has been promoted to a more senior role MADGE would not have employed him just because he's indigenous MADGE is more professional than that!

I think you have missed my point , we could have signed someone to liaise with the indigenous players and the coaching staff

I don't get why he needs to be an assistant coach , a lot more highly credentialed assistant coaches who are indigenous and even have past NRL experience both on and off field

It shouldn't matter what your skin tone is when coaching , if you can't get it right with a player whether he is orange purple green or red you probably shouldn't be in the role ....

The way it is portrayed is the club almost seems to be reacting to the LM situation or that we have a issue with indigenous players

He's coached previously has apparently impressed MADGE there is no way WT'S have a problem with indigenous players they already have programmes in place and this appointment strengthens there position footballers tend to be more comfortable dealing with football backgrounded people than someone from outside

Put yourself in the players shoes for a sec , are you more likely to listen to the advice from say a Mal Meninga , ArTie Beetson , Thurston , Inglis ,Thaiday Widders ,Peachey , Preston Campbell etc over a bloke who hasn't played a game of NRL

Strange how the media is running with the Roosters angle yet yourself and the souths forum insiders are all stating WT as a certainty. So many media journo's have zero clue about what's going on.

I’m not in the douehi camp. So I don’t know what flipped him. All I know is he had a meeting with roosters seemed keen to sign there then lastnight/this morning chose tigers. Maybe he had a chat to robbie and twal who knows. But looks like he will be announced today or tomorrow

To be fair Luke Lewis did the exact same to us before he signed with the Sharks.
Called the club & told them he'll sign in the morning, then a call from Gallen changed it.

On Souths forum they are pretty despondent, referring to the swap deal and questions with WTs would let go MCK or Garner to assist with their forward problem.

Makes me happy reading that. Missing out on LM is starting to show a silver lining. Tigers have some depth as opposed to some other clubs who are 1 injury away from despair

Doubt it, Melbourne ensure if this deal goes ahead that he's back for 2021. Something drastic would have to happen for that not to be the case.

I came to tigers about 2 years after that happened. They were still mad about it then

I didn’t catch the player name.
That’s going weaken an already depleted pack.

We have now recruited 2 very good players who were both told by their coaches, they weren’t good enough to for their team. I can feel something big brewing at the Tigers!!!

McQueen to Souths isnt as stupid as some on here might think, didnt Bennett rate him highly enough to pick him for England. They are short in the forwards apart from hooker atm we are looking decent in the pack. McQueen is surplus to requirements for us Souths would utilise him, McQueen has a relationship with Unca Wayne, stranger things have happened.
Edit in no way would i be sending Garner to them & i doubt MCK would want to leave his Samoan family here.
