I dunno, id just prefer if we had a half back that could win a game every now and then.

I don’t want to get into a to and fro with you because it will achieve nothing. I think Brooks is consistently one of our best. His defence is outstanding, short kicking game exceptional. Short passing game is good (not great) and his running game is dangerous. Our win/loss ratio is not on him alone. He has to take some responsibility. Maybe 1/17th responsibility. That’s my opinion and I accept you have yours.

Brooks finally got a half decent team to play with (not even a great team) for the last two years and got player of the year twice. Definitely has things to improve on but to blame all our missed finals years on him is ludicrous

Acknowledges years of garbage and still thinks Brooks is a good halfback. 0 and 6 seasons as a half back leading his team to finals footy. A real champion, any other team with any sort of standards and he'd have played 30 games at most. Pretty obvious when the 'big 4' were available, not a single club was looking at signing Brooks so he clung to the Tigers like dags on a sheep. Without a decent half back, Tigers will never make the finals.

So i guess we will just take your word for it. however, I do remember Brooks said that he never ever wanted to leave the Tigers because he knew he was a bog average first grade half back and couldnt get a better deal anywhere else. Guarantee it. I am not going back a couple of years searching for information. It was fact at the time.

But he was definitely chased by Melbourne ...never heard the Dogs rumour but doesn't mean it didn't happen

Brooks was our best in 2018 and probably just pipped by Matterson in 2019

When our forwards play well you can see Brooks potential ....I just pray that one day we can get a few real quality back rowers and a bit of speed out wide for him and see what he is capable of

If he had come along a few seasons earlier we win a premiership in 10 or 11
