Brooks had an offer from the Storm when he took up his option in 2016...He had an offer from the Dogs when he re-signed in 2017....Maguire then extended his contract at the end of 2018 with a year to run until 2023..

When Brooks runs the ball he’s one of the better halfbacks in the comp. one of the best defenders too. My only criticism is that he sometimes struggles to close out a game, but hopefully that will change in time.

He’s playing behind the best pack he’s ever had this year and I’m expecting a huge year from him.

Pretty obvious when the 'big 4' were available, not a single club was looking at signing Brooks so he clung to the Tigers like dags on a sheep. Without a decent half back, Tigers will never make the finals.

Yep the dogs wanted the lot . Got woods for 8 games lol .
Brooks was supposed to replace Cronk due to the issues he had with the Smiths. Surprised they managed to play together for so long . Shows how professional they were.
And the other was substantial from memory . He genuinely chose to stay . It wasn’t , I had no where else to go , as many suggested at the time.
Croft is prime example this year . His best So far . was well below Brooks worst at the time this happened , yet was chased by the Broncos . Good halves are like winning 250/1 in the Melbourne cup . Great ones are basically like winning lotto. Look at Taylor at the Titans as well. Hint at the Dragons . Cleary at the Panthers . Foran at the Dogs ..see a pattern here. And Brooks is better than all those.

I see everyone is making excuses for Brooksy. And blaming the rest of the team for his form. I don’t understand that? Brooksy is one of the better 7s in the nrl. I think this will be the year he shows he can grab a game and turn it. Change the momentum of a game. He certainly has all the skills and now he has the benefit of maturity and experience.
I’m tipping Brooksy to be very close to getting a blues jersey.

And another thing.. with the quality of our 6&7 and their combination our backs will have a field day.

No excuses for Brooks from me because there is nothing to excuse. He has been great for us over the last couple of seasons. Benji has been right there with him as well.

Imo Foran is the odd one out in these. Was starting to show good form again at dogs until injury. Tenacity sets him apart.

I'd love to see Brookes play origin, but precious Nathan will always be the blues half unless injured.

Brooksy can turn that around by becoming a twenty/forty specialist.
Halfway through the season when twenty/forty is mentioned, the name Brooks will come to mind.

But he was definitely chased by Melbourne ...never heard the Dogs rumour but doesn't mean it didn't happen

Brooks was our best in 2018 and probably just pipped by Matterson in 2019

When our forwards play well you can see Brooks potential ....I just pray that one day we can get a few real quality back rowers and a bit of speed out wide for him and see what he is capable of

If he had come along a few seasons earlier we win a premiership in 10 or 11
