Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don't know what the plan is for MBye. Reynolds and Packer are just waiting out their contracts, though Reynolds has proved useful as a backup.

MBye, well, it's centre or nowhere for him, and not many of the forumers at least even want him at centre.

Happy for the swap. I hope Momo hasn't cost much above the minimum, as at the moment he sits as our 4th choice centre, and I disagree with a lot on here that he is versatile enough for wing or fullback.

He's our second choice centre. But the difference between him and Mbye isn't a lot.

The difference between Grant and Walters is significant

In Madges mind I think he has BJ and Mbye starting. I would hope in a year Talau has developed and would be 3. Which to me has Momo at 4 by the time he comes back. We will see. But I agree, there is not a huge difference in them all (other than BJ), but we wouldnt want all 4 fighting for centre spots on medium sized coin etc

Great post, sums it up. Talau in for BJ when the time’s right, maybe sooner, Mbye contract will expire and by then I’d say Momi would be seeing lots more regular first grade at his expense.

NB: only see Mbye leaving the club if Walters doesn’t work out for utility value,

Or if AD completely bombs at fullback (unlikely)

Talau in for BJ..Madge has lost it

I'm lucky I was sitting down when I read that...wow:face_palm:

You must think Momi isn’t being groomed for a starting role either, holiday at Belly’s ?

That's not the point.

High blood pressure getting to you?

Stay seated mate, we need you safe right now!

You should probably give this topic a miss until you're thinking clearly.

In terms of what my opinions are and what has been passed on directly from somebody with real information, or what you think of them?

Madge thinks he’s our #1 gun. Am happy to not contribute anything if you think it best.

Genuinely interested as I was only ribbing you.

We're getting closer to M Johns and K Bradley on the right edge. If Packer goes both will get a run.

I think you might’ve been looking for **Talau**

I think my post was misread, i was just ranking centres in order of how I think Madge views them:

1 BJ
2 Mbye
3 Talau
4 Momorovski (Momo probs 3 now but feel Talau may move ahead in a year)

That's assuming Talau improves and Momo doesn't.

See it the other way around myself as far as centre is concerned.

Uhhh, actually, they both look great.

You can be delusional if you wish! 🙂

Who are these people writing off Latrell, DWZ, Lomax after 2 games. Far too early to make the call. No they aren't playing well just now but DWZ was played very well back end of 2019.

Form temporary, as they say. I'm not saying Latrell is going to dramatically turn it around, world-beater, but if the NRL plays on to the finals and Souths are present, I wouldn't be so fast to suggest now that Latrell wouldn't be a factor.

Good post. I remember after Tedesco left us, people were laughing about him wanting to join a "winning team" when the Roosters started the year with a couple of losses.

At the end of the year Latrell could be a world beater if his attitude changes, and hopefully we'll forget all about BJ's game yesterday.

I’m one of those who don’t think Latrell can be a top 20 nrl fullback. But he could be a worlds best centre. imo

Anybody who says LM Sux . Is a fool IMO. My issue is , he’s lazy and drifts in and out , and the tigers don’t have the luxury of carrying him for 80% of games for 1-2 amazing plays a game . Especially at fullback .
I. Still think despite joeys horrendous performance on Sunday , that we made the right choice . I also think Souths did as well , especially if they move him to centre.
But this all moot , if the comp eats itself .

Even as a centre at the chooks he often needed an invitation to get involved. But he made up for it with some devastating clutch plays as we saw in the gf. His beef with Robinson following the gf was that he thought Teddy and the giraffe got more praise for having a good game.

3 good touches in 80 mins doesn’t quantify a good game . If the other 16 blokes aren’t doing thier job , and youre the star , that’s a hammering.
If that’s true , then the kid doesn’t get it . And that’s a real shame , as he has all the attributes to be one of the true greats .
Lead a horse to water and all that ..

LM is still probably better than our fullback.

If you’re talking about Doueihi? I don’t know about that? Would you prefer Doueihi or Johnston? I think Bennet can see the difference when he replaces Mitchell with Johnston. Whether that changes is debatable but right now if they were playing FB I would prefer either over Mitchell.
If you’re talking about Corey than yes I would give Mitchell a vote. When returning the ball Thomo drops and surrenders which slows momentum. Averaging over 4sec at ptb is a momentum killer.
