Cotric good value at 600 IF...big IF...he transitions to an elite level center.

If not, it is too much.

Raiders seem convinced he is not a center.

Might be paying overs a bit, but the fact that a coach-less, basket case of a club like the Bulldogs can actually attract a current Australian Test winger while we still struggle to sign anyone of note really does my head in!

Speaks highly spud for our coach, Maguire will now chase the slug that cotric replaces at belmore...we and Maguire are a deadset joke

That’s a little harsh isn’t it?

Agree mate... We seem to wait to the other clubs have there feast and come in and try our best on the left overs... we are desperate for a Major signing but people keep saying we need to make finals first but other bottom clubs can get them... We should hear of a signing in the next few weeks as the deadline is coming so expect a reserve grader or development player to be announced..

Cool the Dogs paid way over to get Cotric a winger and continue to ignore the areas the actually need a big signing..so they will stay a bottom 4 side but hey they signed someone..

Now if they signed Munster or a DCE then you could take notice

I agree and understand.. Don't get me wrong I thing the coach has done a excellent job retaining the players he wants and also buying very talented juniors and it will pay off in a few years.. I believe if we were to pick up 2 top line players we would be close to a top 4 team..

Cotric is a huge win for the Dogs at a time when they dont have anything positive...a short term loss for the Raiders..but with his and Batemans cap space freed up,a free run at CWN ...most probably at our expense.
At the end of the day,wed like to have CWN ,but NEED outside backs...but not at $600k thnks

I actually dont think hes any of that…just a very talented young bloke …yep, self confident for sure, but you have to back yourself …who saw a club in the roostes that had stable management and coaching staff who cld bring the best out of him,and importantly support players who cld take some of the defensive focus from him and allow him to flourish.
I wld have made exactly the same decision tbh,but given WTs support during his legthy injury periods I wld have been more upfront and honest…and wld be donating $$ to the WTs junior system that enabled him to be the $$$ player he is today.
Were all different…but I still support Teddy despite the past…cant stand Moses or Woods(for different reasons)

Tedesco's dead to us mate.

I can understand his decision, i.e. the reasons why he would make it, much like I can understand why Hitler decided to invade Russia. Don't support it as a decision though.

Tedesco held off giving the Tigers an answer, and desperate as we were to retain him, we let Paps go and didn't make any Plan B. There is no Plan B when it comes to Tedesco. Then he goes to the Roosters, of all clubs in the world who don't NEED a player of his calibre.

Goes to Roosters for reportedly the same above-table salary Tigers offered him, perhaps even slightly less. Dog.

Just maybe we shld have held off on Papy until Tedesco had committed...like a well run club/business surely wld have? Its really about the clubs welfare first. Most other clubs get that.
Having said that,we have a woeful record with tiny but talented fullbacks(Gallant/McDonnell/Mullaney)and whilst theyve all had different coaching staff at WTS,Im unconvinced Papy wld have evolved into the player he is today without the support of stable and patient coaching staff.Thats pretty damning of WTS,and I hope Madge can change this.
Am looking forward to seeing our current backs improve at the same rate as our forwards(Nofa excepted, who has had a killer season)

We have a woeful record of tiny but talented fullbacks you say....

Then you name (Gallant/McDonnell/Mullaney).

Put them all together and they wouldn't make one tiny talented full back.

Not convinced Paps would have done anything with us, apart from speed I don't think he has much to offer myself.

I would much rather have AD.

Think all those guys were very talented, but wrong structure at wrong time.Papy did himself a real favor and is now a $500k+player
As for Douhi...solid is about all I can say.Fullbacks these days need to be more Billy Slater than Keith Barnes(thats going back a bit i appreciate!)

Hodgo took us to a GF trophy. He's my first picked fullback.

Yep! In the history of the ‘wests tigers’
Him and Fulton are my first picked both loved the club and never stopped trying

We already have players on big contracts who arnt performing we need to find players who we get a lot of value out of for small amounts of money once some of the bigger contracts are gone we can get some bigger signings happening

WT should make a play for Thomas Fledger his wasted there at the Broncos.

He and Haas really tried hard tonight. It's not easy to do when being belted.

Remember Brett Hodgsons origin debut? One of the best individual origin performances by any player. People only remember the Tallis tackle though

Yep! Here's the stats

It is, based on the numbers, the best performance in the history of State of Origin. It included a record 374 run metres, a whopping six line breaks, 14 tackle busts, a near length of the field try, a try assist and a goal. He made 21 runs, missed no tackles and made no errors.

Few wasted players there, so much talent.

Paws and Claws you might want to tell your mate with great Illawarra knowledge that Garry Jack played for Wests Illawarra not Dapto canaries because he was a Unanderra boy. He did however do sprint training and would often be seen at Figtree Oval on the morning of a game doing private training. He was the ultimate professional. I know this because I also played for Wests ( but I was crap)

My memory is slipping; old age I guess, apologies.Jack was one of the finest products out of the Illawarra.
