THE Western Force have continued their signing frenzy, but the future of the Melbourne Rebels appears increasingly bleak as the franchise’s best players prepare to jump ship.

Winger Chance Peni became the latest star to re-sign with the Force on Wednesday, joining the likes of Wallabies newcomer Richard Hardwick and veteran prop Ben Daley as other players to have put pen to paper over the past week.

It’s understood the Force have another six players who will re-sign soon, while stars such as Dane Haylett-Petty, Billy Meakes, Ben McCalman, Curtis Rona, and Pek Cowan already have existing contracts for next season.

In contrast, the Rebels are battling to keep the core of their squad together.

If we get Watson I also think we'd be better off focussing on forwards unless a gun fast left side winger comes on the market. I can't see that winger coming on the market. I'd love to see us get a gun edge backrower and a gun winger.

In stating that we need to get some quality spine players especially 1, 6 and 7 so I think Watson may be our best signing. It gives us another younger potentially high quality player. That gives us 3 of them in key positions. Hopefully 2 of them prove they are high quality NRL level players.

Wests Tigers lead the race to sign Titans back-rower Morgan Boyle via The Mole

BIG spenders Wests Tigers are leading the race to sign giant Titans back-rower Morgan Boyle.

Unknown at the start of the season, 21-year-old Boyle is now among the most in-demand players in the game with up to six clubs chasing his signature.

The son of former Canberra centre David Boyle only made his NRL debut in round six but has attracted plenty of interest in a hurry.

At 194cm and weighing in at 111 kilos, he has the ideal build for a wide-running back-rower and has plenty of pace and power.

A former Raiders NYC player, Boyle joined the Titans last season and has made impressive progress on the Gold Coast.
Adding to Boyle’s value is a big motor - he can play 80 minutes and looks to have a big future.

The Titans wants to keep the young tearaway but will struggle to match rival clubs, who are offering up to $500,000 a season.
