Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think everyone needs to step back and have a real good think about the approach. Firstly management is hunting some sizable fish. Grant, JAC, Smith, and anyone else they can see as a big upgrade. So if that's the case you don't throw money at a young ok forward until the other contracts are done. He is not a priority tbh.

The second thing id like to add is first-year a lot of players do well and then get found out year 2. The list is endless. So your not throwing decent money at Sam.

Need to be patient i doubt anyone get signed until the finals are done.

Well what you state is correct, however you should be at least offering the same not less if that's the case considering he has improved. There should also be some sort of time frame on negotiations with JAC but understand finals time now.

I can’t say that i am a fan of Huth , when was the last time he made a line break , or anytime for that matter , he is big enough to pull a bull out of the crap but don’t play anything like that

When was the last time any of our middle forwards made a line break outside of Aloiai?

McIntyre for a try off the bench in the middle

Heard anything on his re-signing?

No signing yet. They are offering peanuts at this stage
Less money than this year and he is only just above minimum wage at the moment .
So hopefully they can get something sorted because there are a couple of clubs keen as!

Disappointing to hear. I hope the club has a back up plan if he leaves as we're going to be very light on for backrowers. With Taylor, McQueen and Eisenhuth all gone, it doesn't leave Madge with a lot of options for middle defenders.

even still, I don’t think we need to chase a 9 unless Harry’s clause is enacted. Liddle did very well coming off an injury with no reserve grade and will be even better off a full preseason, and if the noises are true about Simpkin he could end up being a gem.

I have a lot of confidence in Liddle, his passing is seems slightly better than Grants and he is probably quicker.

**I would still rather have Grant for his desire to win and determination** but playing Liddle does not change our structure or game plan.

Don't underestimate Liddles determination and desire to win either. You don't have the history he does with injuries and keep coming back without those traits.

It is possible that Liddle or Simpkin may end up being a better hooker, but from what I have seen so far I would trade either of them to Melbourne for Grant.

The aboriginal grape vine , he is still trying to go to souths

Just don't see how Souths can fit him. They would almost have a complete representative back line with JAC included.

and the salary cap is meant to spread talent yet clubs like Souths and Roosters can fill their whole squad with them...absolute joke.

They just re-signed Johnston, Marsters and Sironen, plus they’ve apparently signed Jacob Host. This is all after they were having cap issues so I would think they’re full up unless they release someone who’s on quite a lot of money

It's got nothing to do with salary cap. Players want to play for good clubs. We have absolutely nothing that appeals to good players. If I was an origin representative I wouldn't even consider playing for WT unless I was paid massive overs.

Maybe we are moving on from JAC and will take Grant and maybe Staines or Burton from Penrith and play one of those at 1 or keep AD at 1 and play burton at 6. If we get Mommo back then he can cover centre and talau takes a wing spot

im 95% we have JAC

i think storm r just waiting on a replacement

JAC won't be able to go to South's. Latrell, walker, reynolds, johnson in the backline alone. 3 of them would take up 2 mill a year easily.

South's are lacking front rowers. No point buying another winger.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you, we are not a destination that good players want to come to, but it will only take one or two good players (to break that mould- Tamou is an example) or if we pull up our socks and play well week in and week out- and get into finals then that may change things around here- and a change sure is needed:astonished:

Just be happy we have both Liddle and Simpkin. They are much more than capable.

Add James Roberts, Gagai, Campbell Graham - Arrow also comes in next season - they might have to have another medical retirement!

Maybe you misunderstood; the aboriginal grape vine would like for him to go to Souths.

if we can move on Liddle and Sam Mcintyre what will that free up $500k ?
We can have a good crack at a B Smith or Harry with that

Unless Liddle gets seriously injured again, Liddle is a keeper. Attack looks very sharp when he is at dummy half.
