Liddle has more talent than Harry Grant... Lids has just been injured that's all... big difference in how he provides service... very noticeable... Harry is a good player but I wouldn't say he is better than Liddle... both has strengths and I would back Liddle instead of Harry

He hasn't played enough back to back games ...and I haven't seen enough to convince me he still has that speed that put him above Brandon Smith as an NYC player

2017 he was our player of the year

he has injured himself twice and come back and PLAYED big minutes and made over 100m and made countless tackles

I recall Manly made a huge play for him just before he joined us from the Central Coast. He's an outstanding hooker forward. I only wish we had more of his standard in our team. He'd show Joey Leilua and a few of the snails in the backline a clean pair of heels.

BIG statement....

Before we signed Liddle I read an article saying literally every other club was trying to sign Liddle

But he signed with us so I think 15 other clubs knows how much talent he has

That worked out well for us.

Liddle having a bad run of injuries means nothing
Same thing happened to Benji, he was constantly getting injured year after year with his shoulders and he turned out good for us in the end
He helped win a premiership

Josh Rizk in before Cini. I've watched Cini and for me he is a centre but needs to work overtime on his defence like. ET did. Rizk is a quick and strong player whom could play anywhere in the outside backs.

Agree. Cini can't even tackle air he's that bad defensively.

Cameron McInnes struggles catching air as well ...lots of us do actually Willow lol

I don't think it adds value to the discussion to try and ascertain who's 'better'. Inevitably it will have people downplaying one of them which is undeserved.

They're both quality players who have slightly different playing styles. Its certainly not fantasyland to think they could be long term opponents in SOO. We're lucky to have had Harry and we're lucky to have Jacob.

If by some miracle we ended up with Harry I hope we can find a way to keep both.

It’s fairly simple

JAC is an elite player who will instantly improve any team he goes too

Graham is an average player who won’t improve a team like ours one tiny bit, I would honestly prefer Momirovski to him. He is the exact player we need to steer clear of

CG is light years ahead of Momirovski. I’d take him if he was available, he’d be our best centre since the early day of Chris Lawrence.

Let’s calm down a little. He’s had a very good finish to the year, helped a whole heap by Cody Walkers insane form.

Let’s see CG do it for all of next season.

Why, none of our players do it for all season as it is! If he does 3/4 of the season then its an improvement.

We've been lucky to have two of the finest hooker forwards in the NRL. There is no need to denigrate the talent of Liddle because truthfully many NRL clubs including the Broncos, Titans, Cowboys, Canterbury, Manly, Warriors and possibly Dragons would love to have Liddle. The Dragons paying Hunt to plaY hooker for $1m pa would crawl over broken glass to get Liddle at less than half that cost. So please just enjoy the fact we had quality in one position. The presence of Grant has put the WTs on the map as a viable destination for the best young talent.

Agreed. If we could somehow keep Grant for reasonable money (because he loves us so much) it would be great, but otherwise we need to prioritise where we spend money. If Grant had never played for us, we would all be admiring his skills but not suggesting we buy him as we have two good hookers already.

We need a 5/8/fullback/pace desperately.

I’ve seen nothing to suggest Liddle can unseat Cook, Koroisau etc

I think some are looking at our players through rose coloured glasses

Something the club has done too often in the last decade

If i had Liddle and Grant in front me and i had to pick one, i'd take Harry no doubts. But he and Liddle are different players, Liddle is a good player if he stays injury free who know's how good he could be. But as we sit Harry has a more rounded game and has far more influence over a game. Where Liddle is better is his passing from dummy half and he has more speed.
Harry has been great for us and i'll follow his career for sure hopefully our paths will cross again if not going forward with Liddle and Simpkin who has big wraps is good enough for me, maybe Simpkin comes along next year and we're all saying Harry who.

Maybe but Harry has ticker, he's a winner, has football sense and leadership. He's priority No 1 for me, even before JAC

We had Harry this year without speed in the backline and where did it get us? Harry is great don’t misunderstand but what Wests Tigers lack is speed. Outside backs with speed is an absolute no. 1 priority if we want to play finals footy.

I’d put speed as our #3 priority
#1 forwards who can get a roll on
#2 players with the right defensive attitude

We need to be able to win a game 14-6

With that recruitment priority we will be doomed to finish out of the 8 again.

Don’t think he is better than Grant but he is much better than average imo. Good passing from the ground; quick out of dummy half. Not sure about his kicking game

Basing it off footy what’s Liddle done not much

I know Liddle hasn't played 53 games for Australia nor 35 SOO for the Bananabenders like Harry Grant.

However I can offer that Liddle has played 43 NRL games to Grants 17 NRL games.

I can also add Liddle has a 94.7% tackle efficiency to Grants 91.8%.

And did nothing apart from being injured.

I see some have a emotional attachment to him but basing on facts his done nothing with his time as yet

Why is a different opinion an emotional attachment? I think he’s a good player. That’s a critical analysis not an attachment. Why demean others’ opinions just because they differ from yours?

I’m a fan of the Tamou signing but in my mind we’re still a couple of hard men off the top teams. A really aggressive bloke like Bateman would help us.
