Do u think we will be able to lure a few big signings ? Or do u think money still won’t make it easy for us to get a few big names? I just went through and seen the off contract list for the end of 2021 and there’s some real quality in there

There's an assumption that we knocked the swap back because we rated him so highly. Maybe they asked him and he said, "Nup. I'm not moving to Melby."

Not sure either, but money should always be the reason, they are only a tackle away from never playing again and playing for not much won’t pay the Netflix bill😂

I hope that Diane Laurie doesn’t start kicking stones and carrying on like a pork chop like MM, RM and JA.
That both clubs can work professional together to arrange a release for 2021.
We don’t need to act like Manly or Parra.

We need Dane Laurie to agitate for an early release and that’s our fullback solution sorted for next season .. great kid without all the baggage that JAC brings.

So you would be happy for our new recruit to carry on like JA and make a fool of himself.
WT are trying to become a more professional club and we don’t want to act like Manly or Parra, go onto the Storm website and read the last paragraph in the JAC article it states how professional WT were in the negotiations.

When BJ is on song he has some good ball playing qualities and extremely hard to stop when he rampages , Benji was partof his undoing last year as well as some stupidity , he is better than a cc player

That is the issue, when he is on song. Too often he isn't and Ricky was over him. Talau represents our future next year and I hope he has a big off season ready to take that position.

BJ will be there in 2021 Paws as much as you don't want him to be.

Losing Benji will be like unchaining the BJ we know and love.

There is always an excuse with him. Next year it will be something else. He ran out of excuses with Ricky and at 28 won't change. The team for its long term future needs Talau at right centre.

I don't see Talau as a long term centre, not enough speed.

Where do you play him then ? I wouldn't play him on the wing because he is too slow. He did the job there but to me AJ is a lot better.

We still have massive question marks as to whether we will be competitive in 2021.
1. Mybe fullback?
2. AD at 6?
3. BJ fit or fat (at least we have some options)
4. Liddle?
5. One dimensional forward pack (need some ball playing options which maybe why they are interested in curtis)
6. We lack punch and a forward that can change momentum (papali, paulo, JT).
7. In the absence of 6 we need a revolutionary Game plan - we cant play narrow. We need to change the point of attack and create space for our halves. Identify our strengths and play to them, if we haven't got size we need to have a plan that moves the ball around and tires the opposition.
8. Defence - we need to hit and stick. This is non-negotiable. Too often we got rolled through the middle which led to repeat sets, penalties and points

We have heaps of issues to resolve right. To me it's basically impossible to fix this next season. We have to build and unfortunately it's a slow approach.

It's unlikely we get a superstar who turns this team around. My take is keep purchasing quality players for reasonable contracts, develop juniors and upgrade carefully.

I really think we should have kept Aloiai but I also don't think matching Manly supposed 600k offer is smart. We are going to lose guys that are solely after every additional dollar they can get. The top clubs lose players all the time like this.

There is an assumption that this swap idea was even discussed between the two clubs let alone Talau. He might have said I'd love to go. JAC might have stated well if you give me an upgrade I'll say another year because it was always about more money rather than family.

On a plus side. That’s two indigenous players that we have managed to attract to our club now.

Who’s the second ?

Jimmy also gave us a pretty good rep in his signing statement in terms of what we have in place to assist Indigenous groups etc. maybe things are looking up for the tigers

I’m pretty sure that statement was written for him. It hitting all the right marks. “CLub on the rise” “Madge is a great bloke” “great indigenous program” (from our only koori).

I really don't know how much truth there was to this in the first place.

But if it has any truth, and did play out with Talau not wanting to go to Melbourne... that wouldn't make him feel too good even being asked.

What an awkward and difficult thing to have to manage.

Really hope it didn't play out like that, which I don't think it did.

Never did I think I would see the day you would compliment Sirro haha.

I do agree though, he has kicked on at Manly and if that is the Sirro that comes back I am all for it. I still believe we are one quality second rower short.

No idea mate, I wouldn't be averse to the idea. We have plenty of front rowers next year and we are short a quality second rower so if we get Manly Sirro back for Aloiai I think that is a good outcome. If 2016 Sirro comes back that's not a great outcome.

Was thinking, now that we have speed in the centres in JJ .. he can partner either TT or AK and we can move (try) JL in the back row with his brother LL .. ?? Thoughts .. ?? (JJ =Jimmy Jet .. TT = Tommy Talau .. AK = Asu Kepaoa .. JL = Joseph Leilua .. LL = Luciano Leilua) That way we dont need Siro Jnr.

No way Joey is a back rower or would want to play there.

Second row has to be the spot we need to fill . As others have said we have 7 front towers already in the 30 , even if JA leaves . I really like the JA for Sironen swap. I think that makes our squad way more balanced .

Realistically with the money set aside for Grant and JAC could we go after Crighton from Easts. I thought he was one of the best for NSW and he is a quality Second Rower which we need.

Caveat: I can see Cordner force to retire freeing up his money to keep Crighton.
Lindsey Collins looks a good player but Easts don't lose players they want to keep.

What's people's thoughts on Billy Magoulias and/or Scott Sorensen. Both off contract at Sharks?

No to the last two from me.

Could Luci move there ? They could persist with Twal . I actually like filling the last 3 spots with Margoullis , Laurie and Sironen .
