Michael Carayannis from the daily telegraph:

A planned player swap between Luke Garner and Curtis Sironen is now unlikely to eventuate although the Sea Eagles remain keen on Garner’s services for 2022 and beyond. Sironen is off-contract at the end of the season.

And garner is contracted til the end of 2022

So he is next to embarrass us

Embarrassed by losing Garner lol. I would be hoping he goes.

No I don't really rate him either but somehow he will make a fool of us

I'd be whispering in his ear everyday, Manly, Manly, Manly lol

I just hope we have something in the pipeline

I do have faith in Madge and where we are heading so hopefully he is in total control here

Carayannis also reported that Joe O is a two year deal with a club option for a third year. I’m a big fan of the club options in deals keeps players motivated and makes sure the club isn’t stuck in poor deals but can keep the player longer if they choose

Yeah that’s a great deal if true especially given the Broncos are paying some of the freight in the mandatory 2 years.

Hartigan is heavily involved and I rate him very highly.

Sirro has been good for a few seasons but he does seem to get injured alot - and if Manly were even considering letting him go I think it would be for that reason only.

Have you read the thread? 18 out of 20 games this year and 22 out of 25 the year before. That's not bad.

Obviously not. I don't read every thread to form an opinion can do that on my own - right or wrong. And I still believe that Manly would not even contemplate letting Sirro go if there weren't concerns over his body. Despite how many games he has lined up in watch how much attention he gets from the trainers on the field.

I honestly don't care how much attention they get from trainers if they are playing the majority of games without playing busted. He has obviously done that.

Then I don't expect Des would be dumb enough to let him go considering their efforts to strengthen their forward pack and his current form.

I would, they just offered Josh Aloiai $600k plus

 Yeah, I don't know how they justify that price tag. That bewilders me. It brings back to my mind that story of Reynolds receiving our offer and him going to the then Dogs coach and them both being bewildered.

From memory:
We lost every star we had.
Telling players that they would have to play through 3 years of Rebuild.

Reynolds was SOO 2 years earlier.

The big thing we probably did wrong was not sign on current form. Josh Reynolds did slump and the dogs were running last. Maybe we could have offered 650k. James Maloney was another option
But doubt he would have signed or maybe signed for 800k. Look, I get the Josh decision and had we not signed him I doubt we would have rebuilt (see how the stick of wooden spoon is upon us... No one wants to play in a team heading for a spoon).

Why on earth we signed Mbye? I have no idea. Both Morris twins were off contract. The Bulldogs clearly having a decent forward pack and grit but we go let's buy their halves who ain't working!

No idea what Cleary was thinking. Maybe he will make similar decisions at Penrith.

Mate anyone who watched the game closely could not understand the Josh Reynolds decision. Even at his best he was not a 750-800k player. He is a hood team man who tries hard. He was never that skillful and despite playin origin, it was more a sign of the lack of options at that time and thats why they punted him straght away the next year. He is a good support player, but he is not that organising half that should demand that money. 650k is way overs and theres a reason the Dogs told him to go and thats because they were already looking to get rid of him.

I mean I don’t see the big loss in not getting sironen. Next season Garner will Just keep that spot warm till Blore finds full match fitness, he’s the future for us in that position

We need an established second rower

Can i ask everyone here something?

worst case scenario 2021, none of our signings are doing what we want them to do.

How do we respond?

No huge issue, none are on a lot and we have a lot of room to move next year so keep trying to improve the squad.

Maybe we just sign Siro for 2022, which might make Manly more inclined to release him.

Could be that Siro doesn't want to come here and thats why this deal is falling over..

Siro for garner is firing up a bit.
I only see one winner in that and that's us.
Garner is a manly junior and Siro obviously tigers I like it.

Telegraph is saying it’s unlikely - that means we’re a chance! 😂

If we aren’t getting Siro from Manly not sure why we’re releasing Aloai for nothing in return.

Can’t keep releasing players for nothing in return. Either Manly give us a player or take another player we don’t want like Packer or Reynold or no deal. Can’t keep being a door mat.

2018 off season it was Ivan, 2019 offseason it was Matterson and now Aloai. We need to get a player off Manly or Josh can scrub toilets and mow.

It’s a possibility for sure.
