Sirro has been good for a few seasons but he does seem to get injured alot - and if Manly were even considering letting him go I think it would be for that reason only.

Have you read the thread? 18 out of 20 games this year and 22 out of 25 the year before. That's not bad.

Obviously not. I don't read every thread to form an opinion can do that on my own - right or wrong. And I still believe that Manly would not even contemplate letting Sirro go if there weren't concerns over his body. Despite how many games he has lined up in watch how much attention he gets from the trainers on the field.

I honestly don't care how much attention they get from trainers if they are playing the majority of games without playing busted. He has obviously done that.

Then I don't expect Des would be dumb enough to let him go considering their efforts to strengthen their forward pack and his current form.

No offense, but I thought you were making a joke at first. The same Des that said Tolman is the best prop in the comp? The same Des that continually stuffs up salary caps with forwards? Yes, I would expect him to be dumb enough.

Michael Carayannis from the daily telegraph:

A planned player swap between Luke Garner and Curtis Sironen is now unlikely to eventuate although the Sea Eagles remain keen on Garner’s services for 2022 and beyond. Sironen is off-contract at the end of the season.

Well he was smart enough to move Josh Reynolds on and we all know who was dumb enough to bite.

I would, they just offered Josh Aloiai $600k plus

 Yeah, I don't know how they justify that price tag. That bewilders me. It brings back to my mind that story of Reynolds receiving our offer and him going to the then Dogs coach and them both being bewildered.

Yup. Can’t see us finding anyone decent to take our last two spots in the 30, hopefully they figure it out though

We are at the spot now where we hope something shakes lose, someone will come over the next 2 months.

Yeah there’s normally one or two guys who end up becoming available

Does this guy know Garner is contracted for 2022? Why not just try and get him now?

Its why I always call our recruitment reactionary but I am seeing an improvement in that regard. Happy to pick up a scrap between now and kickoff if we are smart about it.

So they got their target - and it remains to be seen if it was a smart signing or not. Two weeks ago plenty had him as our best forward.

Not at $600k he isn't

Carayannis also reported that Joe O is a two year deal with a club option for a third year. I’m a big fan of the club options in deals keeps players motivated and makes sure the club isn’t stuck in poor deals but can keep the player longer if they choose
