I feel packer is going to be hungry this year and is in for a big one. It's his contract year. I would be inclined to keep him unless we need to release. Our cap is already looking good.

If only up until the parra game so he can flatten matto again.

It is nothing more than join the dots by some really low end reporters.

So true.
But I guess it gives forum members a chance to lay out their own opinion of who they’d like to see join our club.
And sometimes it’s worth reading the thread to find out more on a player you didn’t know that well.
Again it is as you say a dot joining affair, but that is what rumours are all about.

I like the Gebbie signing, but like all of this year's recruits I wouldn't bank on much from him. Like in the highlights of him he doesn't throw a single pass. Still, could make for some exciting matches, and that's more than I expected from next year.

Also, on people comparing Reynolds to Widdop: have you never watched rugby league? Reynolds is a wide ball running player with very limited organising and passing skills. Widdop is a classy organising 5/8 with a great passing game who can and has played a lot of halfback and fullback. I'm not bothered if we get him or not, but those two are totally different players and that's a horrible comparison.

He looks great surrounded by internationals. Shame he is so slow...SO SLOW

Re Widdop it would surprise me if we went that path.
If we did have no doubts it would be on a small low risk contract. He would add value but at a cost of a potential talented gun.

I’m worried about the fullback role. Laurie is a few years off nrl fullback level & all we really have is Mbye or AD.

Backrower we are weak in as well.

I doubt much will happen next 6 weeks signings wise as places will be shutting shop soon.

The Warrington Guardian is feeding off the Aussie press about Widdop moving to Wests, but do go on to say that NO contact has been made with Warrington yet.

Widdop is back in Australia for the off-season and Warrington expect him back in the New Year but they are planning options incase he decides to remain down under.

If he accepts the offer he stays which is fine. If he wants more $ he has the freedom to leave.

He and his manager chose to play this drama out in the media.

I've learnt a long time ago being loyal is not about the value of your contract.
