It’s seems it’s very easy to get this forum buzzing. Out of the blue we get a post that we are about to sign one of the hottest young players and the forum laps it up. No information where this news is coming from, maybe like the mystery front rower. Okay this info might be legitimate but we have been down this track a million times and come up empty

Yes Widdop does play fullback, but hopefully not for Wests Tigers.

I’d suggest we should not get too carried away looking at reserve grade highlights. Widdop has had a stellar career in NRL and international football and would be a great short-term stop gap solution. His goal kicking alone would be invaluable for us.

Would kick a good 40m field goal too I’d imagine

Unlikely. Last I heard, there is interest but he’s most likely to re-sign with Penrith. He’s looking for more from Penrith.

But how long can Penrith and Crichton wait before making an offer? If Mansour stays then they're pretty hamstrung. Whom else are they trying to offload?

If we offer Crichton the cash he wants and Penrith ask him to wait another 3-4 months until they know what's happening with others then there's every chance he's leaving. The offer he has now may not be matched, and may not still be on the table by then as funds would need to be reallocated elsewhere
