Question: would people rather Widdop (1y)/Noffa (3y) or Laurie (4y)/Mansour(2y). If I had to choose I would probably take Laurie/Mansour

Hard call. Both scenarios have upside and downside.
On Nofoaluma, I really want him to re-sign as I value loyalty but if I’m honest, as footballers I thing him and mansour are interchangeable

Certainly not sure of why, but Nofo hasn’t seemed to be showing loyalty atm?

But I do think wingers are the easiest position to change, quick blokes are coming through every day.

I’ve heard Nofoaluma is getting itchy feet about wanting to play semi final footy and also thinks his value has gone up. You could call that disloyal but you could also call it fair. I think we are heading towards finals footy but we regressed on field in 2020 and maybe he’s had enough. I hope he stays though.

One hot season and he's out to play semis? He's the only other long term player aside from Brooks that can be associated with the repeated past failures. Bit rich to have good season and then start getting bullish about wanting finals footy. If that's his attitude he can go. Stay and build something here, or do a Tedesco/Moses/Woods and parachute into an already successful outfit. Good luck.

There is a reason why this club has not played finals in 10 seasons ..Nofoaluma should sign or move on ,obviously has tickets on himself ,wIngers are a dime a dozen Bigger / faster and can tackle ! Brooks

How about instead of bashing our halfback we support him...how many dally m position awards have we got in our current squad? Exactly

In a season where basically only nofa and Luciano had a good year, Brooks seems to be the common go to man for criticism

Maybe the reason we have no Dally M players is because of Brooks ......


Didn't Latrell say he didn't want to be our Marquee player .....gives you his opinion on Brooks ...I'm not saying LM's word is be all and end all ... ...even JAC thinks he is better off playing behind a 2 game veteran ......how many other players who rely on tries and try assists think the same about Brooks .....

Even during our golden period of 09-11 we couldn’t sign anybody so that is a myth. Who was our biggest signing? (Apart from Ellis)

We had a heap of talented juniors coming through .....Woods , Fifita from the Roosters ,Tedesco , Nofa ,Lui , Dwyer , Groat looked the part ...with the players we had we really didn't need too many players

Spot on mate, I said in a previous post that in that 10-12 period we had one of the better rosters in the comp and really should have claimed our second premiership.

Has a club who was favoured to win a premiership in 2012 ...done so poorly barring salary cap scandals

I was reading his article about why he has turned his back on the Cows offer and the ESL contract and thought to myself ..._Surely not "

To be fair, he is the halfback!!!!
If without Munster or Hughes I don’t think Melbourne win the grand final last year, it’s simple without a top line halfback we will struggle to put on points week in week out.
And unfortunately that comes down to brooks.

The quote there is " if without Munster or Hughes"...with Munster out, Hughes, and the team, was struggling. Give Brooks a season with a good 5/8 and see how he goes because this season Benji was woeful.

Hopes of Marshall's illustrious NRL career ending on a fairytale note at Wests Tigers were dashed when coach Michael Maguire in August told him he wouldn't be offered a contract for 2021.

And while the 2005 premiership hero was reportedly in talks to join the North Queensland Cowboys on a $150,000 contract, and later Hull on a blockbuster $722,000 deal, neither agreement eventuated. He said benji was keen and was talking to the club, and the club had reached out as a replacement for walters as he was confident he was leaving for Brisbane.
No mention of us in relation to money for benji though so it is probably not true in any case

it is interesting though that Jimmy Smith is good mates with Scott Woodward and often has him on his afternoon show too

No hope. He barely speaks English and is still learning some of the basic skills.

Has pace and power though, best chance is on the wing.

It feels like there is a parallel with the way things are evolving with juniors at the moment. Time will tell but I havent seen the club developing like this for a long time.

Unfortunately, this is the truth and I hope that Nofo realises it quickly.

Who here thinks that our chances of making the eight would be crushed if we had Kepaoa, TT or Kei instead of Nofo long term?
