Even if Laurie did come this year, I don’t know if we are in a position to blood him. I would rather him stay at Penrith personally and hope he gets a solid stint at fullback there to give him that experience before he gets here.

Reason being we have a rookie at hooker and we need to decide what is happening with our halves.

Will it be Doueihi/Brooks or Madden/Doueihi? If its the latter then you have two inexperienced halves and an inexperienced hooker. The last thing you need is an inexperienced fullback.

We have serious problems this year in my opinion but i hope im proved wrong.

Laurie is on a Devt Contract at Penrith and so is unlikely yo get a run until Rd 16 so his chances of a solid stint are low.

Hope they make a heap of other recruiting woftams

How about Benji Marshall

Panthers of 2020 say otherwise. Who would have thought a spine of Edwards, Luai, Cleary and Koroisau would be the minor premiers at the start of last year

Madden is inexperienced in 1st gde,but has huge experience as a junior representative,i think he will be fine.Doueihi will be reliable if not brilliant. I doubt the Panthers will be going overboard to give Laurie game time, and if you look at his playing statistics they are off the wall.Sooner or later you must play these guys, but a lot has changed in the whole side and it will take time to build combinations.I am very confident, and the coaching squad by now will have a fair idea who is ready and who is not. I also might be wrong and i hope i'm not.

There’s thousands of junior rep stars out there laying concrete, fixing your taps and building peoples homes. Do not underestimate the leap to NRL.

Yeah, like the old saying'" use or lose it.: Many hawks will be perusing our young players.Lots of people strive to find a negative to every positive.

He won't get a run at Penrith unless there's multiple injuries. Only way he'll play consistent first grade this year is with us

I get that, but you have to start somewhere. If it does't work back to CC and start again. You never know unless you give it a GO! You can't impress in the top grade unless your given a chance. The injection of some young blood wii do wonders for this side.

Laurie will walk straight into the 1 jersey.. a decade of non success will see to that !

Brooks is a very experienced half, and i think underrated.Liddle is not inexperienced. Madden has played in nearly all rep junior sides, you don't get that opportunity unless you are a tough kid.As for Simkin, every club in the comp will be sweating to pick him up.

Wayne is obviously a good mentor, but thats all i ever hear from the players he's coached. He carries around his own coaching squad, and i think they do the work. The British side basically called him useless. The only side he coached that did not have an excellent roster was newcastle and we know how that went.Even SOO he had smell me finger and and another 3 o4 to help him with the side, and we had grass foot Freddie .

Actually it sounds like one of Waynes comments that are about as honest Chinese trade ambassador.

If Momo was half the player some on here are making him out to be then the storm would have snapped him up and we’d have JAC. Getting Laurie should be number one priority and if it’s at the expense of momo then so be it.

Forgot to mention that Zach Dockar-Clay is at the club too. Think he’s on train and trial. Plays 5/8, halfback and hooker. Very quick off the mark with a good step and passing game

Also worth noting the pom mentioned a couple weeks back that if Walters is to leave for Brisbane the club could look for a backup/depth half. ZDC could definitely fill in

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cp8BNhyyXZU

The 2021 version of Pita Godinet

LOL X 1000. This ZDC bloke didn't throw 90% of his passes forward, and he can step, dummy and has pace.

Hi all,

I was at Rabbitohs training this morning and Benji was the chatter from the players. Compared to how I saw the Tigers train this week, the Rabbitohs were horrible. Mansour was in the firsts team. Tatola in the reserves and Latrell looked like he needed to lose about 20kgs, did slot a nice FG from 62m out though.....

Wayne doesn’t rate Paulo, bagged him publically for inconsistent play last year.

I highly doubt Wayne would have publicly bagged out a 18 year old on a development contract

He's 21 and in their top 30. Agree doesn't sound like Wayne, or likely taken out of context. However the actions of South's recruitment would suggest they don't rate him.
