Looked at some clips,and he is a beast,fast,solid and can beat a man one on one.Thats rare in a Tigers backline.

He's built like Fonua. Is he faster, better in the air than Mahe was? Let's hope so. Not playing all year last year means he's far less likely to play this season

He's not built like Fonua at all from what I've seen. Doesn't seem especially tall, not short either but he's a lot leaner than Mahe with a good athletic build.

Kei is 181cm, 100kgs. That's a nuggety young back. 3cm taller than Mahe. Weight may be distributed slightly differently, but essentially a short and powerful player...

Could cause problems with passing if he is noticeably shorter than those around him.

The talented-player well is pretty much dry for this season at this point.....Hastings would be a good get considering plenty of people are saying Madden and Tannous are a while off first grade, Hastings would at least keep the pressure on Brooks to consistently perform and Douiehi is still an unknown quantity at 5/8, he may not handle it at all so Hastings and Brooks could share the halves duties if that's the case.

I'm with you FTB, however, $$$ and length of contract are the main query for this signing. If its cheap and in our favour like JTJ, I'd be happy to take the risk. He can cover in the backs, halves, possibly hooker if required and can kick goals too. (I'm not sure whether there's much else out there atm).

I don't care if he is shorter as long as he is sharper than those around him and can mobilise an attack.

His build is way better than Mahes for sure. Wouldn't trust those NRL weight figures, a lot of them are way off the Mark and seem like guesses

I've been watching the ESL for the last 10 years and Jackson has been by far the the best Aussie and Kiwi import they've had over those years.

In my opinion the DCE issue was blown out of proportion across media and socials. Yes, he broke curfew and DCE took exception to it, however the media made a mountain out of a mole hill. Trent Barrett and Scott Penn fed into the blowback and only dropped him to keep DCE happy.

We've seen much worse behaviour in the NRL, a lot of players have been forgiven for bad behavior both on and off the field, and in some cases even criminal indiscretions.

If the Tigers are looking to sign Jackson, it's a great move. I'm all for it.

TIGERS KEEPING TABS ON HASTINGS

There has been a strong rumour doing the rounds for the past week that talented halfback Jackson Hastings is poised to join the Wests Tigers.

Hastings has been the star No.7 in England over the past couple of seasons and has been back in Oz during the holiday period.

Throw in that the Tigers have lost two veteran playmakers in Benji Marshall and Josh Reynolds - and question marks remaining over Luke Brooks - and it seems a perfect fit.

But I've done some digging and it seems that Hastings is set to see out the second year of his contract with Super League club Wigan.

After that, however, the classy halfback is likely to be ready to come home - and don't be surprised if the Tigers are first in line for his services.
