Broke the news about Hastings over a month ago. Not many believed me ?

So the implication is his signing is not linked to Brooks' form in the first two games?

If this is true (and that is a big if), little wonder Brooks is down on confidence.

I wish people would stop making excuses for Brooks. If Brooks' form these first two games is linked to Hastings joining us, pack his bags now.

You may as well apply that to most of the 17 except for Laurie, Liddle, Twal and one or two others.

None of the current 17 or top 30 for that matter have been tasked with steering the team around for several seasons to come up short of the finals every time. Not only has Brooks failed in every season to make the finals, he takes no accountability whilst others still make excuses for him, including yourself!

So far the reasons for Brooks underachieving include: changing of head coaches, football operations/board politics, Moses too dominant (despite them complimenting each other in juniors), Moses, Teddy, and Woods leaving, JT sacking, Ivan back-stabbing, Madge rebuilding, forward pack not laying the groundwork, Farah/Benji over-playing Brooks. Now you want to use Jackson Hastings as an excuse for his poor form.

I hate saying this as he seems like a nice guy and he bleeds Orange, Black, and White, however there is only one constant remaining after multiple rebuilds and that is LB. Insanity is repeatedly doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. We need to let him go for both us and LB

It is the team, it is the WTs that failed to make the finals. Brooks is not perfect but he is far better than other options.

Hastings had been involved in drama at the Club's he had been at. He is in ESL for a reason. Do you want to bring that to our club?

@Lauren it was me that said we're in uncharted waters. By that I mean there's been no club in NRL history that has shown such consistent ineptitude and for that reason there really is no one in the league with the experience to address that.

No, though I don't read every comment or every thread. However as this is a discussion forum, considering the way the team has started the season and given he is our chief playmaker I would expect the majority of discussion to be about him. Wouldn't you?

More perplexed than concerned, Madge had one of his “infamous” 1 v 1 honesty chats with him this week, let’s see how he responds.

Cheers mate for your responses, appreciate it! There just seems to be no urgency from our players at times and lack of people pushing through and giving options for each other.

That’s the biggest concern & last week showed it. Kepaoa isn’t 100% (knee). Hoffman would be in there but Madge giving him game time in NSW cup as he had an interrupted pre-season. Hence the urgency for another outside back.

Walters for Oates seems very logical for both clubs, is the club feeling like it'll happen?

Oates pretty busted.

Looks good in reserves. He's not an elite winger but he can score a try and do tough carries in the middle, he would be the second best winger at the club.

And then when everyone wants to move him to the second row, he'd be only too happy to oblige.

Except that Brooks was out of form last year too. He's played 150 games, he's out of excuses. The focus is rightly on him now, he needs to perform.

He has a good short kicking game every third year.

One year he kicks the ball into the opponents legs, the next year he kicks them dead.

Might get it together next year. (only if he's still here)

Oh, and this year he's added another string to his bow by giving away penalties from kick offs, but to his credit , he has shown a goal kicking ability that we haven't seen before.

Yeah, Brooks is definitely a confidence player and talk of someone else coming that maybe a threat to his position is probably not doing his confidence any good at all.

Don't read anything into Hastings not playing for Wigan last night. French didn't either, and the coach said weeks ago it was likely they wouldn't play in the first game or two. He was not expected to, it's nothing to do with the Tigers.
