Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We've got a heap of money to spend end of this season. Looking at the Rich List that was compiled in 2020 by News Corp (ew), our top four paid players from 2020 will all be moved on. Figures aren't obviously entirely correct, but would be close.

Reynolds - $850,000
M'bye - $815,000
Packer - $750,000
Joey - $700,000

Thats $3.15 million dollars, or a third of our salary cap, freed up if M'bye moves on.

Really puts into perspective how criminal our cap management was under Cleary, what a disgrace. Madge signing Joey for $700,000 was poor as well.

The Cowboys have secured Scott Drinkwater on a two-year contract extension, per News Corporation. The cows now have Chad Townsend, Tom Dearden & Scott Drinkwater signed as halves options in 2022.

I didn't look at the rich list, but does it include TPA's?

You could also put on the list

Chee Kam - 250k?
Walters - 200k?

Also, with Mbye, we'll most likely pay half of his salary to go and play like an Origin Centre at another club and wonder why we got rid of him..

Coates to Melbourne done deal apparently. Two years

That's a good Addo-Carr replacement if true.

More like a young Israel Folau . Not quite as good , but very similar .

Didn't think tpa's are included in the salary sombrero..I mean cap.

If we do have that sort if money to spend. You throw 1.5 at Sam walker just to stick your finger up at rorters. Then all we need is a lock

I think Toddy mentioned Dearden would play 9 and then be groomed for that 7 spot by Townsend.

He’ll be very very good at the storm.

He's pretty good at the moment and he's pretty much just relying on his athletic ability. Once he learns the Bellamy system he'll be very hard to stop.

Wasn't Coates one of players rushing Madge like a crowd entering Myer at the boxing day sale.

Staggs officially staying at Broncos for 4 more years. Pretty much the only young talent of theirs they have kept lately

When the time comes, Toddy will have good headaches. Cows got some depth in halves and hooker wise.

Paying Townsend $700k a year while waiting for Dearden to come good is a bad headache to have ? besides that they've done okay recruitment and retention wise.
