Exactly, until we start winning and look like a harmonious organisation the top players aren’t going to give us consideration (which is fair enough)

I hope Madge and Hartigan are monitoring this situation very closely. As an aggressive, hard-running forward he will be a phenomenal addition. Tapine and Madge have a Kiwi connection.

Tapine at 13 would just about round our pack out. don't see it happening, but imagine.

You can probably rule James Bentley out of a move anytime soon as he picked up a serious injury last Friday night. Saints confirmed yesterday that it's a lower leg break and his ankle is a bit of a mess too.

A centre who can put away their winger is a lost art in the NRL. Only a few around who can still do it. Jarrod Croker and Joseph Manu are the only two I can think of who are great at it. Michael Jennings and Latrell Mitchell were very good at it when they played centre. Joey Leilua can do it too when he decides to show up.

Gildart looks like he has that in spades. Defence is the only question.

Absulutely. Mick Cronin was one of the better centres in providing good ball to his winger. Ryan Girdler also was good at it, Paul McGregor as well.

Matt Gidley as well .

Havent seen one mention of him being linked to another club.

We may be stuck with him.

I think 400k is about right for him. I'd be happy to have him on that.

The Cowboys have secured Scott Drinkwater on a two-year contract extension, per News Corporation. The cows now have Chad Townsend, Tom Dearden & Scott Drinkwater signed as halves options in 2022.

Payten is bringing together a good Nth Qld side. I always enjoy league more when the Cowboys are going well. It is a rugby league stronghold deserving of a strong team.

Gildart is 182cm, 85kgs. That's small for a centre.

Size isn't everything, but it helps.

He's also been out all season with a groin injury.

Again if he's on 200k and wanting to prove himself then fine. He basically comes in as a direct swap for JTJ. No problem with that. If we're offering him 500k then he kinda needs to start and that would be a concern.

Absolutely. I'd go so far as offering 1.9-2 million over 3 years. We've got to pay overs to get the first star or two. Sure, he's currently only worth about 450-500k. 600-650k is our ballpark to have any chance.
