Reynolds set to sign with the Broncos.


Apparently Wayne has been assisting Adam make the decision behind the scenes.. Possibly Wayne making a move to Red Hill at season end.

I’ve seen that being floated around. Idk whether to believe it considering Bennett would have been the one offering him only a year at South’s. Unless it was part of a master plan to get him to the Broncos long term knowing he’d be coaching. Which if is the case...genius.

He wants to stay in Sydney so he’ll most likely take the Cronulla offer.

People need to stop suggesting Laurie to move to the halves and douehi to lock. Surely you can’t be that stupid. You don’t weaken 2 solid positions. It only causes more issues in the long run.

My concern with Douehi in the halves is his lack of acceleration particularly in defence. I don't know if he is suitable for lock but certainly does have ball playing ability, can tackle and reads the play well all of which part of the modern locks DNA.

There is a hazy rumour floating around that Ricky Stuart has inquired about Luke Brooks availability to replace George Williams in Canberra.

Not sure on reliability, source has 50% hit rate. But one worth watching if it develops. By that I mean, watching Brooks out the door.

There was an enquiry by Wigan to see if they could get George Williams immediately and suggested a three way swap with Hastings moving to the Tigers, Brooks to Canberra and Williams to Wigan. I believe it was nothing more than an enquiry/suggestion which was shot down.

I wonder how much freight we'd expect to carry for Brooks still has a few years and on big $ which i cant see the raiders taking on. I think Brooks does need to go for his sake and our sake but to carry the can for this to happen would be silly especially when we've a;ready signed Hastings for next year.


Hastings is a downgrade from Brooks

The only people who even think brooks is crap , is the fans on social media , and Mick Ennis ( who has a bee in his bonnet because his close mate in Reynolds was wearing the magpies jersey last year ) **There’s been no mention out of the club that they’re even remotely unhappy with him.** I’m curious if he does play second receiver , how many try assists he will get . Or if he will prove everyone right on here .

I reckon this could work. We'd have a lock who can make a bust and he'd be the most skillful lock in the comp. The question is could he handle it defensively.

Then Brooks would have to get his running and passing game back. Then Madden would have to prove he is a first grader.

Anything at this stage is worth a try, at present we are going nowhere. I would try Brooks an Madden in the halves, and AD at centre, see how they go, at half time try AD and Madden in the halves and Brooks at centre or lock .

The only place i'd LOCK Brooks is in the video review room at training and make him repeatedly watch how to dive and ankle tap a player that he is a meter away from.

Geez that was frustrating! So little awareness/effort. Yes he was chasing, but never attempted to make the tackle.

Doueihi can’t be lazy if that was to happen.
His work rate off the ball is terrible.
Locks these days need to be very fit, full of energy both in attack and when defending.

Doueihi isn't lazy. He is going great for us. I do agree that it'd be tough on him but maybe he could do it.

... he said yes.

He was hitting some sprints at my local track when COVID kicked off.

Worth a chat.....

One of my mates who coaches in Souths junior reps met him last year and has remained in touch - reckons he's one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Yeah, I was surprised to see him and his wife and their dog in my area of all places.

Can confirm, super nice.
He'd be great for our pack.
He's an experienced player but still pretty young.

Whatever is happening with Brooks and Mbye needs to be sorted out asap. They can't rely on Hastings to be the answer as he has no track record of that over here. Unless they have great faith in Jock, which we'll get a chance to see in coming weeks.

From what I've seen of Madden in NSW Cup he isn't First Grade standard. Happy to be proven wrong but I don't think he's the answer.

I have to agree with this, I don’t think he is up to NRL standard just yet but fingers crossed he has a cracker.
