There is a hazy rumour floating around that Ricky Stuart has inquired about Luke Brooks availability to replace George Williams in Canberra.

Not sure on reliability, source has 50% hit rate. But one worth watching if it develops. By that I mean, watching Brooks out the door.

There was an enquiry by Wigan to see if they could get George Williams immediately and suggested a three way swap with Hastings moving to the Tigers, Brooks to Canberra and Williams to Wigan. I believe it was nothing more than an enquiry/suggestion which was shot down.

I wonder how much freight we'd expect to carry for Brooks still has a few years and on big $ which i cant see the raiders taking on. I think Brooks does need to go for his sake and our sake but to carry the can for this to happen would be silly especially when we've a;ready signed Hastings for next year.

Hastings is a downgrade from Brooks

The only people who even think brooks is crap , is the fans on social media , and Mick Ennis ( who has a bee in his bonnet because his close mate in Reynolds was wearing the magpies jersey last year ) **There’s been no mention out of the club that they’re even remotely unhappy with him.** I’m curious if he does play second receiver , how many try assists he will get . Or if he will prove everyone right on here .

You don't think bringing Madden into the side is a sign?

Sign, sign everywhere a sign -

6 Brooks
7 Madden
13 Doueihi

I reckon this could work. We'd have a lock who can make a bust and he'd be the most skillful lock in the comp. The question is could he handle it defensively.

Then Brooks would have to get his running and passing game back. Then Madden would have to prove he is a first grader.

Lot of if's but maybe it'd work.

Doueihi can’t be lazy if that was to happen.
His work rate off the ball is terrible.
Locks these days need to be very fit, full of energy both in attack and when defending.

Doueihi isn't lazy. He is going great for us. I do agree that it'd be tough on him but maybe he could do it.

He is, even admitted last week or the week before saying Robbie is kicking up the backside due to being lazy. He has alot of upside but without the ball he is very ordinary.

I can't see us jagging a current NRL player by then so it might just be an upgrade for a couple of our KOE players. They are certainly playing as though they have been told a top spot will be available.

AD is not active when defending.
Yes he is in attack but he never sprints back, doesn’t chase breaks, often stands off rather than be 3rd man in. In attack he is great. Being Lebanese is awesome. Being young he has many great years infront of him. I would prefer 16 other Joes, Laurie’s or even Brooks defending than 16 ADs.

It could be a week of Sink or swim for Madge
If we can't beat Newcastle then who can we beat
This is a must win game for our team and for Madge
If we lose against a ponga-less Newcastle then I think you can safely say it will be the beginning of the end for Madge and a few players

No marquee signings no results and no end in sight
Something has to give sooner or later
I like Madge be we just aren't getting the results

As someone who runs a successful business and an ex sales person in the building industry, I found that I had to treat each customer the way they wanted to be treated to get the most out of them
That means adapt to my clients to the point where that becomes second nature
I keep them happy and they in return feed me more work then I can handle which is the end result I am after
I think the principles are the same
If you want to get the most out of your players, you have to be willing to listen
Work with them, not against them
I don't know what goes on behind closed doors but I would hope we have honesty sessions after every game
Each player should own up to where they let the team down without being told
Until our players can acknowledge that then we will never improve
They need to own it
Then Madge should be able to help the players improve in that era that let's them down
And that my friends is just not happening
It's the same every week

Couldn't agree with you more.

Yeah I tend to agree .... this game may be his reckoning!

Myself with most others are perplexed with the lack of quality signings. I agree that targeting young players with promise is a great plan, but so far Laurie has been the only attacking player signed in a side that is lacking speed and ability. We have the dollars, but the reality is we will have to pay overs, so be it ! Just 2 high class players (not over the hill) would give some impitous to this side, and we would still have heaps of dollars to spend. I am also concerned with our coaching staff , the side is bad in all areas, something is wrong. It's time to rid the side of below average players, the MAYBES have to go! Too many bad apples are spoiling the side.

never noticed it until it was pointed out
jogging on the spot, if he ran across field more the extra number would allow luc to mark bird and TT to mark Ramsey, why was nofo centre field? AD's lazy D then caused LL to be in two minds to mark norman and bird

Very similar thing happened in the Titans match also.

He's hard on himself tho.
If he's lazy, what would you call our other players?

Douohei, Laurie and our 9s are the most active.

It's just how Lebanese people are mate.
Hard workers who always thrive to do better.
It's on our blood.

Check out the first try in the Dragons game. That’s what people mean when they say he’s lazy.

Can I ask how he was lazy ...he was having to hold his line in case they through the inside ball .......he was never going to reach the winger ....and then by some miracle we did stop the try he is out of position next play

It was a late offload on one edge of the field.
It does all start in the middle.
We fail to number up, it’s as simple as that.
We have extra players marking up on the blind our fullback standing at marker. And our whole side is too slow to shift.
But from that most highlighted as our inability for each player to be on the same page, some up and hold, some compress some slide.

You could say Norman was covered by the sliding Simpkin so there was probably no need for Doueihi to spend as long in that spot before sliding right.

Marking a bigger , stronger attacker ...he needs to feel comfortable he will get a clean shot ...or he cops it from everyone about his soft defence if he falls off

The real crime in that try was Nofo standing next to the goal posts. He had to come in (not that far) to cover for a kick but waited WAY to long to get back.

It’s not the fact he didn’t chase, he doesn’t move up..... The fact he didn’t push up between Simpkin and LL meant LL had to hold when he needed to slide and we had 3 defenders covering about 5m. I’ve even drawn a nice little picture to explain.

I’m pretty sure LL wasn’t happy because he gave him a spray when they scored.
