Know this is totally pointless but one can only dream.
My current wishlist includes Brandon Smith, Dale Finucane and Isaac Liu. Am also a fan of Connor Watson...could probably name a quarter of the NRL at this point in time ?

100% agree with you Lauren..
You add Smith and Finucane and we instantly change to a top 8 team.. It is worth the money especially if Packer and maybe Mbye leaving.. Similar money.

Add those players and there is little change on the ladder. Our problems run deeper than that

No I think you add them and they bring the culture with them we lack. They are winners and other players (not top level) will want to come as well. We have some excellent young talent but lack leadership and experience.
I was a fan of Tamau when he joined and stuck up for him but for me he has to go as he is not showing any leadership to me.

We’ll never know because those players won’t give us the time of day, but they’d decline when they got here. Tamou was Madge’s signing because of his leadership and because he made very good metres per minute on the field. You know how many metres he made last night? Less than 30.

Laurie started the season well and he’s regressed. Luc has regressed. We’re getting worse everywhere.

It is a waste of time looking at any part of the roster until other things are addressed first.

Hard to disagree..
Maybe when Sheens arrives he might recommend a change in the coaching structures. Never thought I would say this but I would not say NO to Flanagan as coach and Morris as assistant.

It's obvious something isn't working.
Need fresh eyes/voices on the scene.

Farah was trying to fire them up, as they stood in a circle, quiet... looking absolutely lost.

I know yas all hate hearing it.
But it's time.....

#BRING BACK ROBBIE FARAH
CAPTAIN/COACH ??

Lol. What was noticeable in the huddle was Tamou saying nothing. Maybe he can only lead from the sideline?

Lee can’t help himself to name drop signings again

Wests Tigers chair Lee Hagipantelis insists there is light at the end of the tunnel
Wests Tigers chair Lee Hagipantelis has described the club’s hefty loss to the Melbourne Storm as inexplicable and indefensible. Still, he insists there is light at the end of the tunnel, coach Michael Maguire is the right man to take the club forward, and revealed the Tigers have held internal discussions over the prospect of signing Tevita Pangai and Dale Finucane.

Hagipantelis, like all Tigers supporters, was gobsmacked by the clubs performance against the Storm on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast on Saturday night. All up, the Tigers conceded 12 tries in a 66-16 shellacking that left the club’s supporters wondering once again whether they were making any progress.

“Last night was bitterly disappointing,” Hagipantelis told The Australian.

But I spent a lot of time with Michael Maguire this morning — he is hurting as we all are — and we all agree there is light at the end of the tunnel.

It is a journey, it really is a journey. There are going to be speed humps and difficulties along the way. We are absolutely committed to what we are doing, we are absolutely convinced we are progressing and the roster is improving.

“We are on a path we are all committed to and we will see it through.”

The Tigers trailed by 40 points at halftime at Sunshine Coast Stadium and Maguire was so disappointed with his side’s efforts, he walked out of the dressing sheds in disgust and left the players to ruminate on their first half display.

They responded to an extent in the second half, although they were also fortunate that Melbourne took their foot off the pedal. Hagipantelis was passionate in his defence of Maguire, who at times appears to be banging his head against a brick wall with some of his players.

“His passion and commitment and dedication — he is hurting as much as anyone,” Hagipantelis said.

“The absolute belief he has in this organisation and roster is infectious, absolutely infectious. That is what you want to see.

“That is what you want to see in your NRL head coach and he has that in spades. He is the right fella. We have to make sure we give him he roster and resources he needs.

“That is what we are building towards. As an organisation we are in this together. We had a lessen taught to us last night by whom I think is the benchmark in the competition.

They are an incredibly formidable organisation. We had our butts kicked last night and there is no point in sugarcoating that.

“I think our roster this year is far better than it was last year. Our recruitment and retention has significantly improved. We want to make sure we continue down that path but as I say last night was, I would hope to thin, an unfortunate anomaly.

Then again, this is a team that put 50 on Souths two weeks ago. You had the best 17 that Queensland had to offer have 50 put on them by NSW.

“There might be more to this than just the performance of a team. The new rules for example would have to have some role to play — 40 has become the new black in this game.”

“That doesn’t excuse 60 but the fact of the matter is that some of these top teams are capable of doing this.”

Asked about the prospect of signing Finucane or Pangai — the latter has been linked with the Tigers for weeks — Hagipantelis said: “These are names that have come up in conversation. I can’t deny that.

“We are looking to add anyone of quality. There is a process to go through. There are matters that are discussed internally but we are interested din any player that will add value to the organisation.”

Well that's it, TPJ and Finucane are no chance now.

Both are extremely high risk signings IMO...Pangai self evident, and Finucane bashed for a dozen years and looking for a super fund
These guys arent the solution, and may end up as the new Packer/Mbye/ etc
One of todays papers stated the average age of our squad is..well..average.Were not a young squad by any means
..but we are a lazy squad in total, and undisciplined in defence
Our defence coach is rubbish..the leadership coming from both Mbye and Tamou is non existent, some of our recent hires are not up to NRL expectations, and some of our promoted juniors simply arent ready
Think Madge is scarred by the eggshells fiasco last year and wont drop anyone, which does a disservice to both the players and the supporters
If he doesnt change a few things around,it will be HE who will be changed ...!!

That what kent was saying. Tigers signed attacking players due to not being able to score points in prior seasons (and I suspect hartigan likes risky players) signing Luciano, bj, Roberts, and it’s costs us our defence and saying we should of looked for players that fight for a bone. Again Madge and hartigan failed getting this type of player, who is accountable I would like to know, not articles saying hang in there. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I won’t be going to games watching tv until they have turned things around consistently and get given clear indication where they are going. Enough is enough

Want to know what a difference a gun half can make to a team, watch DCE and Manly play. Yes Manly have a Tommy and Jake, but they aren't star studded.

DCE just an ultimate competitor. It's what we lack in our halves.

Reports are thay Finucane has realised he's not getting $800k and a long term deal (obviously) and has dropped his asking price and happy with a shorter deal. Melbourne want to keep him anyway so he will probably stay

We need to at least have a chat to him.

Agree. Drop DCE into our side. We become organised. EXECUTE a game plan. Win the 50-50s and make the eight.

I watched Manly today and was just so impressed with their second half comeback. I'm an old Wests man and have hated Manly since the 1970s but they were terrific today. DCE was a key part in their comeback and I'd take him in a heartbeat. It's also annoying to see Paseka playing well - how did we let him go. If Turbo agreed to come to WT for $2m a season, I'd pay it. He's totally worth it but I was glad to see him show his loyalty and resign with Manly.

You will have the ball if u can execute a game plan. And you know if Manly don't have the ball he DCE can swing the momentum back in his teams favour. Our halves cannot change momentum. That's our biggest problem. Half time can never com quick enough when we r under the pump. Brooks and moses are not 1st grade standard.

We were down 20-0 last night without barely touching the ball.

To be fair to Brooks I don’t think even Cleary or Cronk at his best would’ve dug us out of the hole we got in last night. That said, he has been the common denominator in a key position during the club’s long stretch of non-success.

We’d be in the finals if Ivan and Nathan come here. Put it that way.

Yes sliding door moment that’s come back to bite us on the arse over and over. Same as us getting Madge and Souths getting Bennett when they were both being courted by us two years ago.

Actually it was 30-0 and we had only two tackles in possession. I'm not sure how much Brooks (or anyone else) could manage that sort of momentum against.

Yep I’m an old Wests man also, but I really like Manly these days - good, gutsy side that don’t have the huge salary cap or ref favouritism of some of the more fancied teams yet are still able to compete with them each week. I’d love to see them take Parramatta’s place in the top 4.

This statement really concerns me.
In what area of assessment of our personal is this statement quantified against?
If we are honest we have potentially a better roster or at least we have more growth in our roster this year but performance wise our roster would be blown apart by last years team in its current form.
They are in denial big time.

Talking about a lack of leadership. I can’t believe in saying this, we need to sign Pearce and grab Finucane.

Hmmm jury’s out for me on Pearce. He’s too up and down and not getting any younger. Finucane would be ok, but he wouldn’t turn this team around on his own, I remember how much trouble he had trying to fire the Dogs up. Everyone looks great playing in the Storm’s colours.
