we're not that far off imo. we need a decent centre, a gun backrower and a ball playing 13. bit of depth on the wing won't go astray either. we find those and we'll be ok.

A lot of people think we're miles away but it's not quite true.

Think for a moment if we'd beaten Cowboys, Titans and Warriors - games we should have won. We were desperately unlucky against Souths. Most of these losses didn't come from mass team failings, most were simple individual misses in defence - people being lazy, not moving, being out of position etc.

We win two or three of those games and we're sitting well in the eight. The goal is to change from a losing mentality to a winning attitude.

We can't keep losing games we should win.

we've got a lot of young kids that are going to benefit from the situations we've been in this year. youngest average age in the league. the potential is there.

We lack the class to get us out of games where we might be losing momentum.

For example, in the first game, we were going to beat Souths, but Latrell made a few plays that changed the game for them. Similarly, I've seen Ponga completely change games that Newcastle were losing. We had it with Benji (the first time he was here). Warriors now have that with Reece Walsh. We've all seen what Turbo did for Manly.

We need to find that player.

Nice, looking forward to 2026.

exactly, last year it was 2021 when we had a war chest, now its 2023..

I think we need a winger, 2 centres, and a good front rower and back rower that can win the collision.

I'm not sure how Simpkin is travelling but I don't think Liddle is the answer at 9, his service isn't good enough imo (we looked better when Mbye was on)

agree on that. Isaac Lumelume, Billy Smith, Harley Smith-Shields, Franklin Pele and Egan Butcher please.

going off what Geo's said in the past, WT like to have 2 specialists hookers and another who can fill in at a pinch. so we've got Lids, Simpkin and Hastings for next season.

For sure, the potential is there.

I'm not suggesting we're ready to challenge for a premiership but if we can win the games we should and play some finals we stand a chance to attract a genuine marquee player to help us to the next level.

We need to weed out the lazy players and poor attitude. As Madge says "Be the player you want to play with". Don't let your team-mates down.

yep. if we can show some grit and effort in defence it'll go a long way towards us attracting marquee talent. just hoping we see a change in these last couple of months.

I agree, he has been given more than enough chances this year, but doesn't look like being the player many thought he was going to be, or already was

I think his debut was sensational. was strong against St George and the Titans I thought, and was poor against the Warriors. if anything I'd like to see M'Bye head for the exits to give him more minutes in firsts. no KOE might stunt his development.

I am talking about Liddle, Simpkin hasn't had too many chances as of now, and yes Mbye needs to go

Six clubs awaiting Finucane decision. Wests tigers not amongst them.

Yet undoubtedly the murdoch media will find someway to make it look like we "missed out again" despite it being the 5 clubs who actually tried to sign him couldnt.

I think Liddle is keeping the seat warm until Simpkin is ready to play first grade week in week out.

It's important to remember Simpkin doesn't turn 20 until October, he's nearly 18 months younger than Stefano and Talau.

It's a real shame state cup is off again. He was developing well.

We also need to remember this will be his 2nd year in a row with limited gametime.

It’s why if the Tigers are serious about him he should be on the bench ahead of Mbye. He needs miles in the legs and body contact. Hooker is a high demand role and his development has now stopped unless he is getting gametime.

The **Hyena's** (media) will rush in and steal the prey from the Solitary **Tiger** then say it wasn't yours.

Only reason I can see is if where trying to off load mbye some 1 will be more likely to pick him up if he’s playing first grade

I'm much more disappointed about this than TPJ.

Stefano called out specifically watching him train in origin camp opened his eyes on how you should prepare. The only reason I can think of that we're not one of the six is because we've already been told not to bother.
