I’m not sure how Simpkin is travelling but I don’t think Liddle is the answer at 9, his service isn’t good enough imo (we looked better when Mbye was on)

I agree, he has been given more than enough chances this year, but doesn't look like being the player many thought he was going to be, or already was

I think his injuries have really affected his development sadly. Poor bloke couldn't take a trick. He's worth keeping around, but I'd hope that **Simpkin is our starting #9 in '22.** Liddle will be a handy bench player though as he should be able to play #13 as well.

I think it will be the other way round?
Side note, Lids wasn’t on the whole game against the Bronc’s, but he still topped the tackle count.
But, does need to get fitter to be constant for the game imo.

There are two types of hookers, those that can follow a coaches instructions ( to varying degrees ) and those that can read the defence and therefore direct the play as they see it. Prime examples of the latter are Cam Smith and Damien Cook, obviously the most valuable players in that position. Those types are dangerous because you can't just watch video to work out their game. I'm not saying Liddle is in the same class as Smith or Cook but he can read the play, hence his capability to make metres from DH and put himself in support to score tries. But it takes time on the field to gel with the rest of the pack so they can understand his play and learn to expect the unexpected.

Absolutely correct Mate. A number of occasions on Sunday Mbye went the wrong side and blew try scoring opportunities, plus he crueled AD a few times with balls up around his neck and AD had to go to ground.

Simpkin is not ready and he won't be for at least another year from what I have seen.

I thought Farah was supposed to be mentoring Lids and Simpkin - Not doing much in that regard methinks.

You've either got it or you haven't. I think Liddle's got it.

My thoughts woukd be that we can prob get 300k for Mbye next yr. That leaves 500k but we still have 500k left in this yrs cap.

So if we front pay him next yrs 500k this yr and Dragons cover the other 300k then we can open up another 800k in next yrs cap

that's the way to do it front load this year

Stefano called out specifically watching him train in origin camp opened his eyes on how you should prepare. The only reason I can think of that we're not one of the six is because we've already been told not to bother.
