How's the media saying Eels don't have a decent roster...

Top 8 every year.
Their problem is the egomaniacs Moses and Gutho.
Toxic.

That sounds like Brad Arthur has slipped the media a brown paper bag lol

- gutho, Moses, paulo, brown, Blake, matterson, Marney, the other second rower. Yep terrible roster lol

Lol, awful roster huh.
Way better than the dogs, tigers, Dragons...

Roosters fans seem to love Egan Butcher, makes it all the more sweeter if we sign him. Surely the offer of a starting role plus a lot more cash would be super enticing

Maybe he has been promised a starting spot next year with them with Liu leaving

KNIGHTS STAR HITS THE PHONES

Former Roosters utility Connor Watson looks poised to leave Newcastle – and Bondi could be his next location after taking the step of calling rival NRL coaches.
Last week Watson was linked to the Tigers after failing to attract significant interest from the Knights.
Watson, who left the Chooks for the Knights in 2018, has been used as a middle forward for large parts of this season.
He could offer the Roosters depth on the bench while also providing cover across the backline and in the spine.
Channel 9 reporter Danny Weidler told the Big Sports Breakfast: “There’s talk of a return.
“I think he’ll speak to Trent Robinson in the next few days.
“I think he’s doing his own dealings.
“There’s a good offer to stay at Newcastle but there is some enthusiasm from the Roosters to have him back but not on a three-year deal.”

Dunno if he’s a prop though. Don’t forget they’ve missed Lindsey Collins all year and have re signed fletcher baker, they’ll also be looking to free up as much funds as possible to re sign manu and chase the cheese. All factors fall in our favour

Interesting to note that not only is Brandon Smith off contract at the end of 2022 but Harry Grant actually has a Mutuak option for 2023 so if effectively off contract at the end of 2022 at this stage as well. I say go all in for Harry

last year showed having Grant in our team isn't priority and I would extend that to Smith as well.

We had Grant and still missed the finals terribly, we have far more important areas to fill before throwing marquee money at Hooker.

Without Grant we’d be last.

But seriously, I’d throw 1Milly at Grant. Even 1.1..

The influence and everything he had on the whole of Wests Tigers, I actually never felt or seen that effect a player can do to a team.

What do you do with the two capable hookers we presently have?

The 19 yr old nsw cup player or the injury riddled bloke who missed 8 tackles vs the Warriors and left dummy half empty and tjrows a bunch of average passes. You give them to someone else snd take the Origin star

Too bad the tigers have re-signed Liddle.

Only for 2 years and Grant would not leave the Storm until 2023 anyway.
You could offload Liddle pretty easy I reason and Simpkin could be a super sub / back up.

Or you could get rid of Simpkin and keep the better hooker at only 24.

Lol ? or get rid of the guy who can't play 80 minutes and misses 6 tackles and throws passes around ankles. At least Simpkin is still developing. Simpkin will be an 80 min hooker

At this stage Simpkin is below average - will he ever get above the mediocrity line....who knows. Anyone can play 80 mins Mate. It is how you play the eighty minutes. The games I saw Simpkin play in the NRL, he was not an 80 minute player either.

I think I would get rid of the guy who also can't play 80 minutes, stands with his hands on his hips after he passes the ball, hogs the ball in try scoring situations, slow as a wet week, no experience and couldn't tackle a decent size sandwich.

There is so much wrong with that I can’t even respond, your love of Liddle blinds you from seeing his missed tackles poor passes and ball hogging himself.
I didn’t down vote your post because I don’t down vote, but boy I really should have

Personally I don't interact with you any more.

However just so you know in spades.... I don't give a rats what you do... Downvote as much as you like.

Classy as usual, blind love for Liddle to go with it, the daily double

This is possibly the worst take on any up and coming player I have ever read.

Russell loves Liddle so much he literally said he'd have him over Harry Grant

Can you please show me where I said that.

Here's you saying you think Liddle is the better dummy half and opposing letting go of Liddle for Grant. Your extreme love is Liddle is evident and I was merely showing that haha, I'm impressed by how you stick by him through thick and thin.

Game set and match, Russ has been caught out, although anyone who read posts about Grant last year would already know this.

I don't think he does. Tupouniua, Radley & Crichton are their back row for the next 5 years at a minimum. Egan would walk into our starting side at either 13 or in the back row. I think we're in with a good chance.

Just means if Watson heads across, more or less Egan will be let go you'd assume.

Egan also has a kicking game, not sure if anyone seen that last weekend - perfect kicking game for someone thats on the edge.

Listening to Brad Arthur this morning when interviewed was interesting. Basically, he said results will determine his future and he knows if he side does not produce he is gone. I admire his honesty.

I saw the interview on NRL 360 last night, he was owning all the sides issues, how refreshing

I posted the exact same thing when talk first emerged, now with Watson being mentioned, Fletcher Baker re-signed, both Butchers are looking at limited game time, as both starting secondrowers play 80 minutes, and Radley could at 13 as well

Brown is so average. Has no playmaking ability.

Trading for him would be a massive mistake.

I’m all for trading Brooks if we get someone better

I don’t believe brown is better at all, and he’s not even a game managing half…which is what we desperately need

Big shame he got injured. Was a great young player. Upsets me to still see his arm in a sling in the coaches box

You do realise that under Arthur in their first 3 years they finished 10th 12th 14th ....without mentioning results in 2018
