Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So Hodkinson is off to the Sharks after being released by Newcastle. Shame, I reckon he would've been a good pick up for us, linking with Reynolds again. God knows why he would want to go to the Sharks tho with their stacked roster.

I feel sorry for Hodkinson 1 year after he wins the State of Origin the dogs shaft him for Mbye based on potential. He was in the Top 3 halfbacks at the time and going to newcastle he pretty much fell off the face of the earth. I hope he gets a run in first grade for a few games. But Reynolds and Hodkinson would have been a deadly combo for the Tigers… .. 3 years ago

Yeah injury has really dogged his career, he could've been one of the best halves in the game. Has a really cool head under pressure.

Hogo was a good player back in his Dogs days, but he now has knees of a 80 year old. Dogs were pretty smart, they knew he was a shot duck so they offloaded him. The Sharks have just got themselves some insurance against the odd injury or SOO coverage

Looks like we need to bank our funds until real quality becomes available, the only player suggestions are Daniel Fitzhenry quality - we are selling ourselves short.

I may have posted this before but we have strong depth. We need strike power 2 Origin level players to make a real difference.
I think we should front load, upgrade and extend Marsters, Mikalele and at some stage Sue if he aims up.

We have to wait until we display significant improvement to attract star talent. I would definitely sign RTS and Cleary when available but wouldn’t hold my breath.

Getting the right young up and comers on the cheap is part of good roster management. Josh Addo-Carr, Curtis Scott, Jack Bird and Valentine Holmes have played big roles in premiership wins over the last 2 years. We need to constantly be on the hunt for new talent, especially in the outside backs.

I don’t rate Jack Bird.
Adding-Carr and Koribete were both untapped talent yet we let them slip away. We have some very good young guys that stood up last year in the forwards under adversity so we need to be upgrading their contracts if they continue to improve this year before they decide to escape through the tunnel or over the fence.
I’m excited about this year however I still think we need to secure RTS as a professional fullback which could open up a centre position for Tui after the departure of Suli.
Tui and Milne could click in the centres.

Pretty sure Addo-Carr backdoored the club by signing elsewhere despite being asked to hold off on negotiations for a short while until our CEO got back from holidays. Not much you can do about people with dubious morals like that I guess.

Not many players would put their future on hold whilst one of the fat cats was shooting a Cousins Imperial Leather commercial in their own private jet:
“Tahiti sounds nice, James, Tahiti”

I'm not fussed on JAC, but how is that displaying 'dubious' morals?

Which Sydney coach tore strips off one of his playmakers at training two weeks ago?

The coach is said to have had enough of this player’s attitude and gave him an epic dressing down in front of the playing group.

Apparently, the spray was so big that the bloke who copped it stormed out of training.

Who is the struggling backrower asking for $800,000-a-season?

A club who phoned his manager last week about his contract status forwarded this information on. This bloke’s form has been so average that he’ll be lucky to attract a deal worth half of that.

Which NYC player yet to play first grade has been nicknamed ‘the chosen one’ by his teammates?

I doubt any of these relate to us but, I thought they were interesting anyway. I think the first one is Nu Brown.
