Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Not sure if we were rumoured to be in the mix but Curtis Scott has signed with the Storm for 3 years and Alex Walmsley has signed with the Dragons from 2019.

Walmsley has just re-signed with St Helens for 4 years. After the world cup, he might of decided the NRL is too hard for him.

From my understanding, that was a practice Humphreys worked on a few years back, and was a major reason we ended up in the crap financially for a year or two.

Then Mayer came along and gave Farah an extra 2 seasons than what the coach wanted to offer, to keep the farm together.

The best backended contracts are the ones not in your Salary Cap. The ones Brisbane & the Cowboys implement really well!

Broncos still paying Locky…

yep… $120k for another 5 years for administration services

And Alfie , Wally and GI

I read it also apparently his asking price to come to NRL was 600k. Big money for a front rower not proven in the NRL.

Tanne Milne…?

I'll add we signed Lolohea, Watene-Zelezniak mid season then signed Fonua, Thompson, Milne retained Naiqama and put Marsters on a trim down program in the off-season..we only lost Tedesco and now Suli in the outside backs..

The NRL top 30 player need not necessarily be a centre/outside back..

What about player 29? Heath Gibbs?

Heath Gibbs' progress will be interesting, as will that of the other Newcastle player McIntyre. A big fast penetrative second row forward is a type we've missed. Also Dylan Smith's progress will be interesting to watch.

gday to all.

im posting this question in here cause i dont know where else
to post it on our forum.

Benji Marshal is the Wests Tigers leading point scorer.
If Benji scores more points for the time he is with us since signing again
will that add to his current total of points scored for a club?

Cartwright has just been released by Penrith to head to the GC.
Another example of late roster movement - I'd wager we'll end up signing someone currently contracted, given we have a bit of $$ to play with.

Looks official CartWright leaving Penrith. I believe Penrith have Cleary and Maloney in the halves so he must have felt like a third wheel. I am a little surprised, as i would have thought Penrith would want to keep Cartwright and give him game time off the bench. No idea what he is going to do at the Titans, playing behind Taylor and Elgey would be worse then Maloney and Cleary (or just as bad). At least he could learn from Maloney.

I am guessing that the titans have had someone make a play for either Elgey or Taylor. Guessing that someone is Bennett. This will probably put the Titans in a worse position next year but they may get John Cartwright helping out occasionally.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

Well I guess Ryan James won't be playing 2nd row anymore with Cartwright going there…time to re-jig the Supercoach team.

Always thought Cartwtight was a back row forward…meh..

Penrith have back rowers coming out of their wazoo , won't miss Cartwright if true

It's true..Gus said so…

Was referring to colmcd suggesting he is behind halves..

Wonder why we didn't male a play..could be more to it with Cartwright wanting out of Dodge for other reasons..

Elgey was ordinary last year, he might play a bit of 5/8\. It almost seems like Gould is supporting Brennan's coaching career. He has let Latu & Cartwright go and apparently Peachey will be released early to join next year.

Yeah Elgey was rubbish but Cartwright wouldn't be much better if any at 5/8\. He needs to be on an edge to make the most of his offloads and his kicking game.

We probably did mail a play , should of phoned , emailed or even pulled out Sheensy's faithful fax machine out of retirement to speed up the process

Looks like it's true

Comment in regards to Tyrone Peachey interesting

Don't mind Tyrone Peachey myself …....
