So why did Lomax, Brimson, JAC, TPJ, Arrow, Mitchell and Sami turn us down?

Some people are in complete denial about the state of things at the club. We let in 50 points yesterday against a Sharks team with $3m sitting on the sidelines and a halves pairing that had never played before. Madge was out coached by a caretaker coach.

On top of that we can’t sign anyone who is a legitimate starter at another NRL club (we plucked Ken out of Warriors reserve grade).

To suggest we just let this play out is insanity. If we don’t make changes next year will be even worse

Its ok to ask for Bellamy and Robinson who both have sensational systems in place to produce quality players,rorters also have the services of uncle Nick everytime they get stuck,Bellamy and others have built the system over many ,many years...Bennett is a good coach but controversy isnt to far away from him at the clubs he has been at,Knights_Tinkler,Broncos -the board and they had the thorough breds behind them,St George won a prem,but left them in trouble for a couple of years.
So yes there is arguments for and against all these coaches....BUT Madge came into a shitfight and its still sticking to him,at least give him next year to clean the crap up....

Shutting us down ? Why ? Just move us to Brisbane or Perth if that’s the case . That’s crazy talk from people who hail from places like Cronulla , and manly , where they’re only 1 bad team away from bankruptcy.

First time I've joined the chorus but Nofa has to go next year regardless of cost. No serious team would put up his style of play. The Sharks two are the type of winger needed for the 2021 game.

Im certainly not knowledgeable enough to argue this point with confidence.

I’ve seen this comment a number of times now but with no elaboration. Would love some structures or plays detailed to show was Madge outcoached?

All I saw was us lose cheap possession on a hot day, against faster outside backs and a weak bench due to injuries and suspensions.

He wasnt out coached at all....his cattle havent got the football smarts to deliver what they did at training and cracked under the pressure again like they always do...score first,lay the platform then turn to water under a bit of pressure...keep blaming Madge,its your yardstick...our players NO HEART OR BRAINS,thats why they are where they are on the ladder,,,,the memorial games should have told you that....

He wasn’t out coached . They scored 4 tries from missed tackles through hard hitups and quick play the balls , like it was u13s.
There’s no strategy there . Just hard running and a desire to hit with your shoulders , or lack there of .
I give Tuki a pass as he’s clearly IMO a rep star of the future , and he’s 19 .
Actually we lost the game , when our bench came on , they couldn’t compete with the sharks bench . But that’s ok they’re just kids . In thier first year . And all of them showed huge potential .
There’s an elite football team sitting there in that pack . It just won’t be elite till 2023 unfortunately .

We lost the game the moment they took that try away , and our defence sucked when Walters came on , and he couldn’t make the clean up tackles that Simpkins and even Liddle do , when a dynamic player beats a retreating middle forward off of a fast play the ball . Heads dropped , and the kids didn’t have the resilience to persevere through it .

Couldn't agree more. We are heading for the spoon next year, but we are such a mess I don't know where the blame lies.

We have a 2nd rate roster, no ideas from the coaching box, and the fact that we can't sign anyone suggests that there are problems in the front office.

We are run by a pokie palace, with an ambulance chasing lawyer heading it all up.

Honestly we are a complete basket case at the moment.

We had Doueihi, Luciano and Nofoaluma all on the right. We all know defence is not their strengths. The Sharks' halves plus Kennedy, Metcalfe and their winger executed very well and full credit to Hannay.

Mate, i'm not disagreeing with what you say, but it deserves some balance.
It's easy to talk about what the Sharks had sitting on the sideline, but we had our own host of players missing for various reasons ( not all these would have played)

Musgrove
Liddle
Garner
Seyfarth
Packer
Laurie
I left out Roberts and Leilua as both were not injured or suspended as far as i'm aware.
Add in the fact our hooker was 19, starting prop 21, one of our starting backrowers 21 and two of the replacements are 22 and 19 with bugger all first grade games between them, you start to get a picture of just how inexperienced that forward pack was yesterday. We were flogged through the middle with boys playing against men.
Apart from that, most of the errors came from the so called experienced players who should know better. It was their errors that continually put the forwards under pressure.

As for the rest of your comments re not signing players etc, i agree wholeheartedly.

It’s a problem when a 12 game rookie coach gives Maguire a coaching lesson .. this is how diabolical the situation this club has found itself in!

Does that make it better or worse? Hannay had his team prepared for it and they executed well.

What surprises me and should concern the club greatly is Maguire turning up at the press conference believing the result would be different after this clanger!

The Sharks have a great system. They continue to produce very good young players and no doubt Morris, Flanagan and a few others had much to do with it.

Please explain this to me? Unless you think part of Maguire's game plan is to constantly turn the ball over on tackle one or come up with the worst possible option if you do manage to hold onto the ball for six tackles, please detail how Hannay outcoached Maguire.

Buying premierships does NOT work . It is literally the reason we are in this mess . We neglected the juniors to invest all our resources in the first team , and got meh above average players on overs , which killed our cap .

This is what guys like you don’t understand . You see things as 10 years when in reality it’s closer to 2 . The sharks had 3 million of cap sitting on the sidelines ? Did they ? Because who was taking that money in the current market , if not for those players ? They had , just like everyone , thier over the hill over paid players sitting on the sidelines . If anything this season was a changing of the guard for many clubs . Including our own .

The dogs won’t even make the 8 , the next 2 years . That’s my prediction . It took Penrith 8 years to get thier 5 year plan to succeed .. and it wasn’t 5 million dollars of meh talent that did it . It was thier juniors who played together since Harold Matt’s .

For anyone that didn’t notice …… Our season was well over, done and dusted, at the end of June.

Confidence missing, heads down and that unhappy feeling of players playing because they had to and not what they wanted to be doing.

Hard to turn things around when external sources (media and fans) are lobbying for heads on the spikes. Throw in our inability to recruit and constant media and agents chatter that we are linked to signing anything that moves.
On the field every time we seem to poke our noses in front either the referees, the bunker or that old Lady Luck do us no favours.

So you would agree THAT is pretty bad environment to live in and try and achieve anything positive.

My understanding is that advice the club has been given is to circle the wagons, load the rifles and man the sentries and wait for the the circuit breaker moments.

Believe me this is no time to to go weak knees and cut and run …… “The worm will turn” for us on all the fronts.

Madge said that he needed men to stand with him in this battle. That goes for Players but also so called FANS and SUPPORTERS.

What's sad is LL is perceived as our greatest attacking threat but he's also our greatest defensive liability. For one try yesterday they had 5 on 3 from the play the ball and LL (and Talau) jammed in leaving Nofo with 3 on 1 (and Nofo will be blamed).

We lost it through bad reads, lazy play and poor one-on-one defence in the middle. The young kids deserve a go but they're not fit enough, strong enough, fast enough or smart enough to carry the portion of the game they're in. The Sharks' speed through the ruck made us look like kids playing men (which we were during the forward rotation).

Walters, Simpkin, Simpkins and Tuilagi were out of their depth but we didn't have a lot of options and will require patience to turn them into first graders.

I'm concerned with Simpkin at hooker, his service needs a lot of work and when he runs it appears to be without a notion of what he's going to do. Brailey gave him a master class yesterday.

I thought Amone had a real go.

With where we are at, at some point we are going to have to repeat what Souths did in signing Asotasi.

Identify the right player & pay massive overs to get him here. Sounds simple but I can see 3 problems:
- identifying the right player. There are half a dozen examples in the last few years that show we cannot do this
- our philosophy is not to pay overs
- we can't get anyone to come to the club.
