So people on here keep rating Ogden and Dillon as close to the two best of our undefeated Flegg team and Dillon may have gone. Ogdens manager is talking to Qld clubs. Let me get this this straight .We are not buying established players because we are concentrating on player development.
Arguably our two best Flegg players could be signing elsewhere.
I find this incredible . Can’t we even sign our own best young players. Surely this can’t be happening. Who is responsible for this if true ( and it appears likely)? We have plenty of money. Please explain?

We have some very good young players. Besides the two you have mentioned, these players are worth watching

Jordan Hill - wing/fullback
Brandon Tumeth - second row
Fonua Pole - prop
Sione Tupou - prop
Liam Scolari - wing
Kade Hill - halfback
Iverson Fuatimau - centre

So who out of that bunch are signed for next year and onwards.

Anyone know how many spots free next year with the re signings and Mbye gone?

by my count, 6, but I'm not sure what the go is with Kei and Hoffman and whether they're elevated into the Top 30 next year. I'd give Amone another deal and would let go of Cini, unless the rumours about Dillon are true and he's signed with another club, as we need a backup fullback.

Where are the rumours about Dillon?

that he's signed a Top 30 deal elsewhere.

Right. That would suck, need re-sign the best of the flegg team and we should have more spots free than other clubs.

I believe Hoffman is automatically upgraded to Top 30 next year.

Never seen Dillon play, however is he bigger or smaller than papenhguyzen?

He looks the same, frame wise.

Arguably best players according to whom? This forum.

I understood Brandon Tumeth signed a contract when he came from Balmain to WTs. Jordan Hill I read on this forum may be offered a development contract. Iverson Fuatimau came from the Bulldogs this year so I imagine he is contracted? Perhaps someone else may know more?

I wouldn't mind Curtis Scott . At least he would give the opposition something to think about as they gallop through the pass with a smile on their face.

I'd say he's a fair bit smaller. Hodgo would be the closest comparison. Very touch and go whether he can make it at a higher level. He'd be the smallest player in the NRL if he does make it. But he is aggressive and smart as well as talented, so that will give him the best chance for him to make it.

And then the likes of Sykes and O'Kane too.

Lui signed a 2 year deal when we signed him from Parra so he's just off contract but hopefully we've been talking to him for a while. Ogden only signed on a one year deal and sounds like he'll stay. Both have had injury issues though, and with them only getting to play half a season over the past 2 years makes it very hard to see how they handle the grind etc. All clubs are essentailly guessing on which juniors to sign for next year.

Don’t know if this is the right place for it but saw this on Facebook.
Ok Tigers Fans here’s some updates and information I’ve received from the Club.

The Wests Tigers are in Discussions and are Signing the Required Nsw Cup and Jersey Flegg players they want and believe will take the club forward but hasn’t elaborated names , they are in the market for other available talent but have been told they have targets but will keep all this in house.

The Rumours surrounding Luke Thompson and Jayden Sullivan were false and inaccurate although they did show little interest with Thompson’s manager but there was only one small discussion between the two parties and no offers were made.

I mentioned linking with a Qld Cup side to the Wests Tigers Club I.E Brisbane Tigers or similar to get more talent scouts out n about in Qld and to be able to use their facilities in situations like we’re seeing now and during Qld games for the Tigers and for a great club location to hold fan days etc , he really liked the idea and said there’s merit in looking into it plus he will discuss this with Sheens and his Pathways Dept.

They are currently looking for a Halves Coach for our current Halves and putting the Johns Brothers 1st to approach among others and I’ve been told to stay tuned.

I asked about whether their will be any changes to our Assistant Coaches and I was told it’s in discussion and this process will take shape now and take some time.

Regarding a Boutique Home Ground Stadium ive been told they are working towards it and are working with the state government and councils to achieve this Goal - this is a process mate is what was relayed to me.

The Wests Tigers are heading in the right direction in the necessary areas.
They have many platforms and programs in place with a plan to build towards regular onfield success and that it will take time mate.

Who were they speaking with?

Sorry for the late reply. Don’t know mate I have asked him but waiting for a reply.
Just a update, could be true or could be BS

I’m asked not to reveal the source so to keep their trust I won’t , but I have contact with an official there who holds his cards close to his chest , he answers most of my questions without giving too much away , it’s all brief but gets to the point.
I’d love to get more in detail though.
If I do it right that might happen over time ?

Was told by a flegg staff member earlier in the year that Dillon is pound for pound the strongest in the club, he told me he weighs mid 80’s and can bench 160kg and squat close to 200kg. He told me cardio wise he’s in top 3 in whole club. He told me its a massive effort as he has never had an nrl pre season just the odd session here and there, the guy who told me would know, he had something to do with Dillon in sg ball at the dogs before coming here.

Definitely not much smaller than Ryan Pap. I walked past Dillon at Lidcombe after the boys escaped with a draw against the Thunderbolts. I'm 178cm and 100kg, Dillon was at least as tall as me and looked to be around the 80kg mark - pap is listed at 181cm and 80kg so I'd say they're incredibly similar in build and speed.

If he is 80kg and benches 160 and squats 200, he should be doing powerlifting meets lol

I can see them trying there hardest to get rid of him This isn’t the time he has been in trouble

Just passing on what I was told, means nothing if you can’t play, like others on here hope we keep him and Ogden and a few other boys from flegg, hopefully they progress and have a positive influence on the nrl team ina year or two.

yup exactly everything ennis said is correct, we simply cant attract anyone and now its becoming so evident no one wants to come to Tigers.. Im not bothered about Thompson on that money but i just cant see any future and that is so worrying. The young kids look good but they cant do it on their own..Questions have to be asked of Madge now but nothing will change as we all know. Pascoe will just say we have a centre of Excellence next year and the club is going well financially. Unfortunately all we care about are on field results and Pascoe doesnt care about that.

Good old Ennis - always good for a baggin' (he did it on the field like a grub, and is doing it off the field).

What is the solution Ennis?

What do the Tigers do to attract players Ennis?

Oh! they don't want to go to the Tigers, the tigers aren't interested in being a retirement home (like they have been), the Tigers just aren't interested in buying losers or the Tigers aren't interested in paying massive overs (like they have previously).

Well, well, what is your answer dopey? Big on putting the boot in but like most of your comments on fox, you don't back it up with answers.

As a commentator or analyst - you would make a great bricklayer.

I suggest you leave us to work out our problems and try and help the "Dogs" work out how to stay under the cap.

Agree mate.
Easy for these flogs to bag us but no solutions.
I'm sure they have seen or been in similar situations in their careers

Well all the ex footballers turn commentators are usually blokes who had successful careers, you don’t see many Nofoalumas or Brooks type players end up calling the game, what would they bring to the table besides a wealth of knowledge about losing.
And I agree they don’t really offer solutions but can you?
I can’t.
Until we start winning games and blood some more quality juniors who can actually play as a unit we are not going to attract the personal we need.
If it was a job and you had the chance of joining a successful business in a Coastal town like Newcastle or Cronulla or Bondi, Or a place out west that struggles year after year what would you choose?
Penrith are a great example of what we need to emulate to be where we all wish our club could be.
Stack the team with juniors that have played together for a few years and know each other, create an atmosphere they don’t want to leave, give them time to because it won’t happen overnight.
This ideal that buying a crop of big names and becoming dominant is not an option for us so stop thinking it is.
Juniors are the only way this club will ever get out of the cellar.

This is what we need to keep together...
https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2021/08/23/35-down-jersey-flegg/

Ben is a very articulate young man. Very strategic in his thinking and thankful for the opportunities in the Wests Tigers system.

All these Jersey Flegg boys and HM & SG Ball players and the Juniors to come are being destroyed by this bloody Flu!

This is the real human tragedy folks - our kids are being denied their natural growth as humans by a dodgy bug no more dangerous than the Flu or Common Cold.

It can't continue like this.

I bloody hope it doesn't continue like this.
Just hearing those youngsters talk and say the things
they were saying , is like a breath of fresh air.
The fact that they're so tight with coaching staff and all involved in the lower grades and hold them in such high regard is just brilliant.
Im hoping the lot of them are kept in our system and grow together and come through , because it will go a long way to getting us out of this rut in years to come.

I agree with this, but on the other hand there are a good chunk of us (me included) that look for the big name signing.
We sign someone from outside, then on of the nucleus of that group of juniors miss out. Then their core group is broken up and playing at the club means just a job for them.
Balancing act our club seems to miss out on
