Hi guys, Can any of you guys close to the club confirm Luke Brooks was given permission to negotiate with other clubs and has agreed to join Canberra from 2022, 23,24. I heard this last night from someone involved with junior reps (not at tigers).

Can't believe people are worried about losing an injured winger from Jersey Flegg. We had a winning JF team without him so obviously had good wingers anyway a lot of which have been talked about here plus we already have a bunch of young outside backs.

On the Brooks Canberra piece it wouldn't shock me at all and think Hastings, Douehi, Madden would do as well if not better in the halves. If true lets hope we get a raider in return. I'd like Hodgson for a yr or 2 to mentor Simpkins or Tapine

They have lobbed an extremely low-ball figure (4 figure sum......) with the excuse that he is coming back from an ACL. He is ahead of schedule for rehab even with covid.

There are already better offers for him elsewhere - would be disappointed to see him go.

I'll be filthy if WT balls this one up and Jordan is let go. Seriously this club does my head in and if Hartigan is involved in re-signing him, then he needs to wake to reality and give the kid a decent offer to keep him in WT in colours. Bloody infuriating.

He's not just an injured winger. He is an exceptional talent and a local junior. What does it say about out pathways when he may walk out the door? We cannot attract decent NRL talent so our future is with players of his calibre. Scolari and Hill make an exceptional wing pairing.

Good question. Is there a salary cap? That teams need to adhere to when retaining their junior talent?

That's the attitude which got us into the JAC scenario. And even now the young fellow signed from Nth Qld, there has been a couple of postings about putting him on the wing. Typical WTs, we don't have any wingers because we don't rate them highly enough so we put a centre on the wing. The centre then cops flak for not being quick enough!

Nine reporting Tariq Sims is free to leave dragons. Two minds on him - feel he is the type of forward we need but age and consistency a big concern.

Don't really rate him to be honest. Played well in a dominant blues team but has been pretty average all year for dragons, 31 as well.

I'd pass. I'm happy with a second row rotation of Tuilagi, Blore, Luciano and Garner for 2022.

Swap Garner out for Sims is a no brainer. Garner has already reached his ceiling (he’s not a bad player but he’s not a stater when our quality comes through). Sims teachers the younger ones who are already playing minutes how to be a professional. I think this would be a great move. The have plenty of young talent, we just need some better experience around them. These kids aren’t going to learn how to win by themselves

Experience is useless if they let the team down on the field and he would, he would also slow the development of one of our rookie forwards as they won't be getting as much game time if he plays. Just seems unnecessary to me

The club for years has obsessed with signing a "forward leader" thinking it will suddenly fix our problems instead of actually fixing things

If they wanted a forward leader they would have signed Finnucane.

I think we have a forward leader in Stef - a solid pre season next year and the guy could be anything. We need another no nonsense hard nosed prop to support him - a JWH type would be excellent. Not too many around unfortunately.

Im hoping Seyfarth fills out a bit more. Has ball skills and plenty of mongrel to play up front. He is just a bit light on at the moment.

Doubt it I think a super league club swap would be the only chance for Brooks

There’d be a few clubs that would be interested in Brooks I reckon. I’d have no issue with him going but we’d better have someone else lined up.

He was always going to be awesome if given space. He is very young, big and has speed to burn. Will only get better, has hands like Talau at the Dragons. It’s amazing what confidence can do to a kid, he now has hands like glue.

I know but if we're going to sign players they should try to be from decent clubs.
