Was just a thought re Liddle wasn’t there also chatter him not gelling with his team mates?

No?

Possibly just a rubbish rumour can’t recall where I read it. I’m not a Liddle hater I think he’s decent enough, I personally think we shouldn’t carry a backup hooker on the bench. Think there’s more need for a utility similar to how Newcastle played with Watson.

There was a story early in pre season that he and Luciano had a bust up at training which might be what you're thinking of

So that’s Sims and probably Woods of off the list. Elliot and Scott’s odds have just shrunk

Something has to give at the Dragons?
Have they announced Suli yet?

It’s not so much cap space or squad space but there will be a few extra guys miss out on making their week to week 17.

They’ve signed / rumoured to sign.
Suli
Scott
Molo
Su’a
Burgess
Moses

Out of the above surely
Suli, Molo, Moses and Su’a come into their 17 with Scott and Burgess as possibles/probables.

If we are honest with ourselves we are in some trouble... ALL of the bottom teams have improved there rosters for next year and we have done nothing at this stage (I like Hastings signing) .. Happy to play the long game as they say but this could back fire in a massive way and the powers at be night just regret not paying a little extra for a key player we missed on.. Fingers crossed it works out but I don't want to run into 2022 with a team full of youngest again. They cannot perform consistently for 25 rounds.. 😛ray:

Agreed, all the bottom eight teams are making big grounds in building their rosters..except for one. Okay our current top 17 will probably change a little between now and round one, but it’s very hard to see us being competitive in 2022. Our ability to attract players is our no1 downfall at present.

Most of the bottom teams , out side of the broncos , have no juniors . It’s all good to sign other teams players , but seriously , how many were guys that thier previous team lost . Or were guys who were lower in the priority list .
Ie. they have they’re “we can’t lose “ players and then the “we are way better if they stay , on the right contract” players . Hynes and Burton are exactly this .
yea they’re quality , but everyone had the dogs coming 7th this year . And they were distant last .
We have a chunk of players who would have been rated as some of the top juniors coming through .
Juniors are out of thier depth until they’re not .
It’s 50 games according to Tim Sheens .
My point is , talent is talent , and there is no reason, that our talent can’t be unlocked , because it’s definitely there .
Cotric eg , was supposed to be a game changer , but if he was dropped this year , would anyone have been surprised .
Dane Laurie was supposed to need the year to develop , ie. he was going to be pretty average . And now he’s the player who’s going to change our fortunes .

Our recruiting sux ! There’s no doubt about that , but I think you’ll find , most teams recruiting is at best hit and miss .
Unless you pluck a Laurie , or Gutho , on the verge of doing something ,When youre plucking known quantities that’s exactly what you get . For good and bad .

This team could be the worst team by far , or on the verge of greatness . I don’t think anyone knows

The problem is outside about 5 players in our roster, the rest have hit their ceiling and it’s a low ceiling. You might squeeze 5% improvement out of them but we need about 40%. Although we did not get the spoon and finished 13th this year I thought we were basically the bottom team by the end of the season. It will take about three good hard NRL standard players to lift things. It’s not a coaching thing, just lack of experienced quality

Spot on.. Thats it for me. We just need the 4-5 experience guys to steady the ship and help develop the younger team we have. I think we had the youngest roster this year and only missed the 8 by 2 wins and you add the experience guys we make it and the confidence they would bring is 2nd to none..
Not saying we need all big name players but you are a few guys like - Peachey, Thompson, Sims, etc we start winning and developing the Lauries, Blores, Stefos, etc

Yep, it showed with half the team out injured, the young blokes weren't up to it, but hopefully they will improve?

Just because we haven't announced signings, doesn't mean we haven't? Could be a number of reasons for this?

Try telling the knowalls that we need experience and they will say there is nobody out there ,we could do with a Sims , Peachey ,Elliott or even a Chris Smith who does have injury probs at times but quite a handy footy player , would be a good 13

Just when I think we’ve dodged every recruitment disaster, Christian Crichton and Ofahiki Ogden hit the open market. Don’t you bloody dare Tigs

I wouldn't mind Peachy. He's can be used as a forward, center or a play maker.

depends on price, everything i had heard reported was that noone wanted him because his asking price was to high. Yes he can be used anywhere but imo hes not particularly good in any position either.

Better than any center we played this year.
Too small for back row imo unless off the bench as impact. Can play 6 but definitely I would have him at center for us.

Peachy can do a job.
I like this signing.

Smart.

Agreed, very versatile.

On another note, looks like Sims is staying at the drags for his final year. Wouldn’t mind Luke Thompson if we can pry him away.

Very smart, he has skill. Off load Brooks. Play Peachy at 6, Hastings at 7, Douehi 3 and Gildart 4.

Many variations.
Peachy adds some attacking options for us where ever he plays.

#13 or #14 look good for mine.

Wouldn't think Gildart makes the team.
We should be looking to strengthen our centres as soon as we can.

Thompson isnt leaving Bulldogs. He has said he doesnt want to leave the bulldogs. Barrett has said he is absolutely in his future plans. And Gus has said that if Thompson wanted out hed be disappointed but wouldnt stand in his way but there is no way Bulldogs would be paying any of his contract.
Gus explained how the rumour about Thompson being shopped around started and it was really just miscommunication between his England based manager and the Australian company that acts on his behalf.

Just because a player is experienced doesn't mean he will be good for WTs. I'm glad Sims is staying. The Dragons have purchased a few players so perhaps another player will have to offloaded to compensate for Sims remaining. We should be looking at that player.

Anyone follow the ESL know how Manu Ma'u has been playing? Cant see anything suggesting he has re-signed with Hull for next year. Trying to think of an experienced hard forward that would actually be obtainable.

Yeah play super league, no thank you.

Marata Niukore has always been a really good player. He has quite a bit of experience behind him and plays a position we are badly in need of strengthening.
