So would Spencer have to wait until November to be announced if it's true?

I feel like it would be for next year. Could be wrong.

We've got a million in cap space. For the love of god can we start upgrading and extending our young talent?

They're all off contract at the same time and it'll be a repeat of the "big 4" knowing our club

What’s the point of extending them? If they wanna go they will go, even if they do have contracts.

So let's just not extend anyone, genius. Extending them now does make it more likely they'll stay

Really, why?

I'll dumb it down for you. If we show faith in them now and give them better money and a longer deal it will make them happier therefore there's a greater chance they will stay! Yes, they might still leave but if we've got a heap of cap sitting there there's no reason we shouldn't put it into those players.

I'd much rather Stefano go into an origin camp surrounded by roosters players with an extra $150k in his pocket to keep him happy here THATS for sure.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see frizell leave. I think Newcastle aren’t far off some kind of mass exodus. Watson was their player of the year and now he’s gone, Ponga could leave at any moment, same goes for Pearce. They were just as painful as us to watch at times this season if you can believe it

Thanks for dumbing it down, now let me educate you. Negotiations are a 2 way street. In other words, both parties have to want to negotiate. Our club can want to extend him, but if Stefano says no, what can the club do? And why would Stefano be in a hurry given the state of the club. He’ll probably play Origin next year, which will sky rocket his price tag. Then a couple months after he’ll be free to talk to other clubs. But yeah, he’ll be tempted to stay cos we are prepared to pay him a few extra dollars now? As if. He’ll be making big money soon enough and potentially at a much stronger club. That’s what I’m sure people around him are telling him.

Thanks champ, what I'm saying is there's no reason not to TRY. We need to be offering them all deals and good coin to stay and convincing them this is the place to be

If they reject offers then what can we do, at least we gave it a go. Would be incredibly dumb to let them go without offering anything which seems to be your thinking? Let's just spend our salary cap on more duds instesd

Certainly can. If you lost twice to our mob this year, you are a putrid team. Even the Doggies avoided doing so.

No, I don't, but I'm saying it should be priority. I'm expressing my opinion on a public forum ?? We have a lot of our young talent off contract at the same time so they need to be very proactive with keeping them

Negotiations are a ONE WAY STREET all for the manager for the player .
We have seen it in the PAST and will continue to see it in the FUTURE

If they can’t see that he is priority one they should walk into another industry. Our constant failure in retention is our biggest flaw in a club that has plenty.

Technically, Frizell can talk with other clubs on Nov 1st. He's contracted to knights next year but has a players option for 2023... stranger things have happened...

Interesting. It was mentioned on nrl360 that they wanted a vocal forward leader for the side but yet he is a very quiet softly spoken guy with a follow what I do not what I say method.

Luke Thompson has been told by the dogs hes safe at the club despite more rumours he's being shopped around bulldogs trying to save face where there's smoke there's fire and dogs have gotta shed some cash somehow

Peachey close to a done deal.

Spencer Leniu also looking likely.

Leniu would be a great get.....as long as he promises not to party in his pamfers jersey on Mulgoa Road.

Will have to take off his Panther undies.

Ideally not in public on Mulgoa Road

My wife worked in an office in Penrith mall in 91 and Copped an eyeful of the Panthers players streaking down the mall post GF win.

And?

And what? She doesn’t kiss n tell Paws and I don’t roll like that…not that there’s anything wrong with that (as a great Seinfeld episode once stated)

Not sure think they may have to still wait.

Dogs sign Braden Burns from Souths for 2 years.. Another outside back and another signing
Do they know there is a salary cap and only 30 players allowed :face_with_rolling_eyes:
They must be offloading someone

He played in the GF?

Still short a Hooker, half and a decent fullback.

Can only play so many outside backs… they’ve nearly got enough to field a whole run on side
