That is what I am hoping for.

Hope is all it will be. No way a club ran by Gould moves on a starting prop, to acquire a 3rd average hooker.

They have no hooker and are under cap stress.

Yeah Liddle is way better than any of their options at hooker. Cotric would be good as well though and they are massively over invested in outside backs.

I really like the idea of signing Hodgson but I think those calling for him to be captain are making a mistake. Too often in recent times we've give captaincy to incoming players who haven't proven anything with us. I've always defended Madge and want him to continue, but his captain selections have been bad. I think it really cheapens the jersey to give players the captaincy like that and it is a knock to the players who are here. And what if he starts playing rubbish?

Captaincy should be earnt a bit more. We all saw how it turned out with Tamou and prior to that Packer, Mbye, Reynolds. I find the fact those players have been our captain to be a bit embarrassing. He doesn't talk much but I'd much rather Twal were captain than some new player who has done nothing for us.

Captancy for 2022 is an issue. Duoeihi would be the ssumed one except he may be missing the first few games recovering from his knee, but if he is OK to start season I'd certainly go Doueihi.

If Doueihi is out, Tamou has done nothing to this last season to show he should be given it again, Brooks fails as a leader, and after that we havent much in terms of players that have shown much between the ears. That is probably why I'd go with Hodgson as vice captain and Doueihi captain, so if Doueihi is out for a while, Hodgson seems a good fit to be stand in captain on the understanding its Doueihi's when he gets back on the field.

Edit- TBH I'd really, really be trying to get Tamou out of the equation and retire / go to ESL. His heart is not in it, he clearly showed his passion and love for Penrith in the finals, no point asking a leopard to change his spots.

I've lobbied my kids since Day zero - my son always players Tigers versus Panthers or Manly. Even today Tigers beat Panthers in his basketball game, which is great except I don't follow basketball.

My GUESS would it be Cotric or Allan would leave.
Despite what Gould has said regarding Cotric staying.
