I thought I heard bishop say this morning was on 850 with tigers

he may well have said that, but it's wrong. and based on a very poorly written article by bogan ritchie, who was referring too bj's massive fall from grace, on a salary of 850k with canberra at one point to a max deal of 50k on a train and trial deal. It was written like he was having a go at the tigers, even though we signed him at a decent but slightly inflated deal, but with an option we didn't take up.

I doubt very much that BJ would have been on 850k,people make up these figures to suit their agenda. Journos are the worst at it but not the only ones

Pretty sure he was on something like 600 here, no way on earth were we paying him 850.

It was definitely around the 600-650k mark, just the journos throwing a bit of mayo on it.

Gildart is usually a mainstay of the English squad and was one of the best centres last year unfortunately he had a year from hell with injury hes looking forward to the challenge of nrl and can't wait to test himself his dad regretted never going to the nrl he wasn't gonna make the same mistake

I don't think he's the same player he was pre-injury. would love to be wrong but he's going to need a massive pre-season in order to be anywhere near the first grade side. if we don't start him in KOE Cup I don't think we'll be doing his development any favours.

Just one other clarification on the Gildart not getting selected for England this year comment. Injuries and all that aside, they actually haven't selected any Australian-based players in their squad, so it looks like the border issues were too big a hurdle for a meaningless test against France anyway. So I wouldn't read anything into it at all.

I wouldn't call him a "key" signing. Will likely play mostly NSW cup and be there as back up.

He's not coming out here to play reggies .. !!

That will be his aim but history and his form last 6mths would say he has alot of hard work ahead of him if he is to make it to the NRL. He has no one established infront of him atm either. Would be why BJ was offered a train and trial deal.

Iv'e said it before,Brooks had alternative,5/8s,9.no decent FB and a forward pack with little go forward .He did not have his best yearbut considering the team, there are very few halves would have performed better.I think he will have a great year.

Some, myself included, reacted in the heat of the moment, seeing signs of disloyalty.

Once the information was processed, realised it could be 1 of many people and the likelihood it's Luciano is unlikely.

Apologies if my post in particular offended, just as a loyal passionate supporter it offends me to see our players not show the same convicted. Even though Luciano was more than likely innocent in this situation.

Sorry to anyone disrespected, Luciano included.

Our biggest problem has been recruitment and Hartigan was in charge of it. Our 2nd biggest problems was leaks.

How could a person who came from one of the most successful clubs in the game and with a record of success be the problem? And we bring back a plodder from the dead.
I don't normally get on the negativity nelly bandwagon but this club is bonkers if true.

In 'normal' circumstances I would agree.
This is the Wests Tigers we are talking about. Cochise has basically stated he is one of now three 'rats' that were caught in the leak trap. I'm not denying that may be true but it just sounds eerily familiar for us. Is it just Sheens is getting the band back together? Heaven help us if it is.

I have never in my life said that, Hartigan was one of the real assets of this club.

A hell of a lot of ifs and assumptions in your post Demps. Hartigan to the club was a huge asset. Unfortunately the wrong individual is going.

You wanted Sheens back... It came at a price.

I thought when he signed his role would end up being more than just pathways but I didn't think he'd be given this much power. Seems like he's in charge of everything.

I think given the club administration's lack of ability to run a successful club, I'd argue we have no choice but to give him that power. I'd rather Sheens with that control than Pascoe or Hartigan or any other blow in that we brought in.

Sheens started this whole spiral. He was the one at the helm when we had the cattle and failed year after year, he was the one that got sacked initially, he was the one that buggered up the cap first time around, he was the one that ended up taking us to court. Since then, we've never recovered. Im not sure how the club gets us out of the mess, but I have little faith in Sheens being the guy to do it. The love for him bewilders me. 2005 was a long time ago. Anyway, thats how I see it. Feel free to rip in. And......GO.
