People need to understand that Hastings is the bloke who would replace Brooks, not Lam. Lam would be relaxing Billy Walters as depth, Peachey replaces Mbye, Doueihi as 6 still. That's actually pretty decent business

Brooks is a far better half than Lam and Hastings.

We know how you feel about him Paws but he quite simply isn't working for us anymore mate. The club can't continually put their hopes into him year after year without success.

I think he'll stay anyway

I believe he is working pretty well, even better when Sheens gets here and implements a game plan which suites the strengths of Brooks, Liddle and the remainder of the team.

You are putting way too much faith in Sheens to come in and implement this magic game plan. I have a feeling you are going to be disappointed.

Club needs a change from Brooks, happy to see him do well elsewhere, but you can't seriously argue that one of these years itll come good at the tigers for him, because news flash, its been over 150 games. If this coach was sacked earlier on, I'd be keen for Brooks to stay, because he has played well for the Tigers under the Cleary days, but with the current coach its very clear it won't work out. There is no evidence to suggest otherwise.

The article also mentioned that we put Hodgson through a physical last week. Confirms there is still interest even though we hadn’t heard much for a while.

Interesting that we won't pay a little more when we've got a bucket load of salary cap and no one to spend it on. Rather spend it on someone like Hodgson than some dud elsewhere, we will still have plenty of money to spend. I think it'll get done eventually

Lamb over Brooks - Really??

Lamb doesn't even shine in a top 4 side - and is only 3 years behind Brooks...
I see absolutely NO upside to that....

Hutchison is the pick of the back up halves over there - And (surprise, surprise) He's not the one the Roosters are trying to unload.

The upside is getting rid of Brooks and his horrendous contract, time for a fresh start. It's not about a direct comparison (not that Brooks has played much better than him) it's about getting rid of a bad contract of a player who isn't working for us and making sure we have depth in the halves

Lam would 100% be a fill in until Doueihi is back

If we're getting rid of player that aren't working for us, Why are we only stopping at Brooks? Why is Brooks the only issue?
Is it Brooks fault the overpriced winger can't defend his wing for (are you ready for it) 1 WHOLE YEAR LONGER THAN BROOKS!!

If we're getting rid of Players that aren't working for us - She'll be a lonely old pre-season. Brooks hasn't fired for a while.... But If I was to list the issues with our current squad - Brooks wouldn't be in the top 12.

Daley was better than good.

Daley, Kenny & Fittler all great 6's

Benji too

I am a Benji tragic, but he is just not in Daley, Kenny or Fittler's class.

Though it must be said that Benji was arguably as exciting, if not more exciting, to watch week-to-week. Yes, a champion at both club and rep level and a deserved Golden Boot winner, but I wouldn't put him on their level.

Because beyond pure brilliance, all round game, ability to single-handedly turn contests AND a winning CV; they had the one thing that puts them in the "greatness" discussion - consistency.

He got in their class the day of the Cronulla try in 05.

Was it at Campbelltown that Benji scored or set up six tries on debut in U20s and the great Arthur Beetson was there scouting for Easts. He wanted Benji immediately for the Roosters.

Yes it was, against the Knights.

I'd rate Marshall at least a good light-year-and-a-half behind those other three.

Its a different game now - it is almost impossible to compare players from different eras. In my view with Beni with his skills, ***back then he would have been the GOAT***. In 10-15 years from now his skills will have been surpassed

You just can't make comparisons from different times

Actually I think "back then" Benji would have been smashed out of the game. I dont think many <90kg touch footy players lasted in the game no matter their skill level. As you say, different times.

Actually Kenny was 84kg, Johns was 89kg and Fittler was 95kg

I know poor old Kenny has been ill but is there any chance he can strap on the boots to come to WTs so **Brooks can go to the Knights** because Andrew Johns said he needs a change and wants to coach him? It's got nothing to do with the Knights being desperate in the intention to release Pearce.

So, are you now agreeing that Brooks should go?

This comes as it has also emerged that young Sydney Roosters playmaker Lachlan Lam’s name has been thrown up as a potential player trade option to head to the Wests Tigers so Luke Brooks could in turn move to Newcastle.

It is understood the Roosters have been discreetly looking at options for Lam who will struggle to make Trent Robinson’s top squad next year given Luke Keary’s return from injury to partner young Sam Walker.

What bs

Absolutely, the DT publish nothing but myths and falsehoods

No substance to anything they say, where is the corroborating evidence from any club about this

I'm tired of people quoting the DT, if you want some fantasy stuff I'm happy to write it for you so you don't have to waste your money on that rag .............

Maybe - But I feel he's a much better option than Lam
(So does his coach it would seem)

Benji didn't play 20's (I can't remember the name of it back then) He went straight to firsts - Against Knights

Andrew Johns would be good for Brooks. However the WTs should only consider trading him if we need up with a better halfback, not a rookie or someone worse. We have limited spots and need quality.

If Wests Tigers let Brooks go, and again get nothing more than an undisclosed amount of financial 'compensation' like Matterson, like Aloiai, then that is nothing short of pathetic.

We cry foul when the media pick on us, (well I certainly do sometimes because it feels like they focus on us more than others,) but my god if we let another one of our main players go just because they want out, then just what is the point? We can strengthen up through some good youngsters, and then they will just cry* foul and up and leave when they feel the itch to.

Sheens has come out and said we're keeping him, so there can be no going back, no change of mind, he stays. Unless we want to continue to operate as a feeder for every other club, and this is not Top4 clubs like the Roosters or Eels, it's the hopeless Knights who are stepping on us now.

Honestly I don't think Brooks can lead us into the future, but if we let him go like this, then our future looks pretty darned bleak anyway.

Again, why would we help out a club who are clearly desperate when we get nothing in return?

Honestly man, I'm starting to think JP is only worried about presenting a Positive P&L number to the board.
The fact there is a competition that we're supposed to be winning doesn't seem in his line of sight at all.

No way that has happened in the last 2 seasons with Covid .....and our side being below standard
