Ironic really when Maguire has had so many recruitment failures. Even more so that you are willing to give Maguire so many chances. Are you related to him?

Even a slight upgrade of 633k over 3 years, gives the extra year as parra are only offering 2 years plus for a 23 year old forward may work best for us.

1.9 mil over 3 years or 900 k over 2 years

Would be missing out on a margin of around 1 million if he was to reject, let’s turn up the heat a little and make parra sweat

800-900K for 3 years I would be ok with it that would definitely make Parra sweat

That is way too high. You could offer him basically a signing bonus by paying him that much for the first year. Post that point it goes back to the 600k. That is great money.

Maybe that might work pay him 800K one year then drop it down to 600K

That is a way to get a player and not ruin our cap longer term. Even if we don't get him it makes Parra pay more. I hope we get him though.

I also wonder what happens with Luciano. I like Luciano but he is another who only stays for extra dollars and I think we should let those players go. I don't mind Nofo for instance but we shouldn't have played his managers game.

Luciano is the perfect bench player who comes on when the team needs to attack.

Not on 700k.

To the administrator of this site why is the 14th word in the 4th line of my post censored?
the word is rocked but replace the R with C as in...having your elbow co......ed
running upright with elbow facing opponents chin.
It is called context, the context of that line does not denote anything sexual, especially a male reproductive organ

It's an automatic filter that is applied, it is not an administrator going through and censoring it manually.

Yeah @Lankanflyer10-98 mate, it's nothing personal.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect they're trying the censorship out for certain words, to see how it goes. Your use of that word was a good example for when it could be used appropriately.

Maybe @kul this word could be revised?

Whatever you think mate, happy either way.

To @cochise, @jirskyr, @tigerballs, @Strongee and plenty of others - I ask you to please move it to another thread.
>Or do we want to just do away with topics and have it all as a free-for-all?

Whilst I support your position in general, to ask that people "stay on topic" in this thread, of all the threads on the website, is in interesting one. This must be the most meandering, ill-defined, arbitrary and baseless collection of jumbled musings on the whole forum.

On a technicality, discussions about salary caps and TPAs do have a direct, single-degree of relationship to signings news. They are the mechanism by which signings occur. This is not the "signing news" thread, this is the suggestions and speculation thread, and some folks are discussing new suggestions about how signings can be better policed in the competition. I would put it to you that ongoing discussions about Liddle and Simpkin similarly have nothing specifically to do with whether Josh Hodgson has signed with the Tigers, but rather are a line of discussion about the potential impacts of the rumour or suggestion.

And respectfully, anyone who reads 10 pages of this thread and gets their hopes up must not have been around long enough to know better.

I do agree that the Liddle/Simpkins talk should also have been located elsewhere, but I choose to try and focus on the one I thought might be more easily relocated.

And yes, one could argue that the TPAs is related to signings, suggestions and rumours. Just about everything is related when you boil down to it.
But that's not meant to be the focus of that/this thread, and I think you've been around long enough to know that.

And it is the off season as well, so more leniency should be given. All fair enough.

Your final comment is a cheap shot. You say 'respectfully' and then put a barb in about not knowing better for good measure. I don't see the respect in doing that. That sort of thing is why I don't comment much, I'm not interested in a slinging match. Throwing put-downs around. No thank you.

I come here hoping for good news about the WT, as unoptimistic as I might be, always hoping against hope.

I apologise if I offend, not intentional.

But also I stand by what I said - this thread is notorious for throwing up pages and pages of gobbledygook and page counts invariably have no relation to actual news. So to see "10 pages" of content and hope for news is one thing, and it's a thing I share myself, but to see 10 pages of content and *expect* news... something else entirely.

It's not a barb specifically aimed at you, it's the reality that this thread is about 110K posts in 4 years (almost 28K posts per year) and an overwhelmingly large amount of it is fluff. There have been, what, maybe 40 signings by Tigers in the past 4 seasons? That's approx one signing announced every 2750 posts.

Thanks @jirskyr, you didn't offend mate. I'm sorry if I was being too precious.

I've read a lot of good posts by you over the years mate, yours is a handle I look out for. Always good value. Let's hope something really does happen and we get to see this thread explode. Although, thinking about it, that's not likely at all, as if it's a big bit of signing news, it'll probably get it's own thread anyway.

There is nothing to leak atm. Sheens has a lot to achieve to meet the expectations of some.

From the way the club has been run for the last few years, he just needs to turn up and we're better. Even with your club affiliation, you can't defend them. They've been deadset hopeless. From the top, all the way down.

As is well documented, I don’t give the club much credit for anything. But I thought Hartigan was doing pretty well, especially at identifying junior talent. I guess with Sheens all encompassing role he wasn’t really required anymore.

But if the supposed stories of him not returning phone calls and not attending meetings with our juniors are true then moving him on was the right and logical decision

I’d say the club realised something wasn’t right otherwise they would have kept him on.

I think if sheens didn't come in madge would of been gone and hartigan retained. That's how clueless the club were be4 sheens.
