Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Papal at his best would be great…. But... He's in reggies and they're at the foot of the ladder

Seems to me to be a lot of new recruits right across the comp who are struggling, not fitting in.. Call it what you will.
I wonder if it's because they're trying to change the game... I'm seeing a lot more dour, ugly arm wrestle type games... Dunno if the two are linked or not

Would take Papalli in a heartbeat, imagine him playing off the back of Packer and Mats!

He’s an origin player and for QLD which is a lot harder to break into a team who went like 8 series in a row so shows you how good he is.

Can’t see it happening but for good value of $, I’d take him for sure

Well Benji finishs up this year I think, hoping Liddle plays 80 mins

Shift Papalli for Robbie or Rowdy, then put either on the bench and replace the 14 so you play with 4 forwards on the bench.
8\. Packer
9\. Liddle
10\. Matalino
11\. Papalli
12\. Lawrence/Rochow
13\. ET

14\. Lawrence/ Rochow
15\. Eiso
16\. Alioia
17\. Twal

Then with the depth we have in the forward with Sue, MCK, Felise, McQueen, Garner and Grant to fight for spots

Devastating ball runner when he is in form. However if everyone in the Tigers is fit who do you drop to fit him into our current pack.
On the bench we have MCK playing a high energy role off the bench, along with Aloiai, and Twal. Plus a utility.
If we where paying big money for a forward , i'd go for someone different. If Canberra were just trying to offload him and pay his wage. That's a different story

Hope McQueen gets a retirement payout this season.

What about Pinching Shaun Fensom from the Cows?
https://www.nrl.com/news/2017/12/12/shaun-fensom-off-the-crutches-and-on-the-comeback-trail/

I reckon he would add a stack of motor to our forward pack and that's saying a lot. Go for him and Lowe and see the cows loose out on one.

We don't need Fensom, if we buy a backrower we want impact.

I honestly don't think we need a 2nd rower. I've a always liked Ailoia and he absolutely killed it on the weekend. Him and masters would be a lethal 2nd row combo in 2-3 years. Fullback and centre are more pressing.

They are our key area's that we need to fill, a strike centre, fullback, and a hard ball running 2nd rower who is basically a wrecking ball .. is what we need.

Love Aloiai as well in the 2nd row .. just hopes he keeps on developing. Rochow is a working horse hits the ball up and tackles all day long, but not a wrecking ball. Lawrence, a little small, getting on .. but in saying that had one of his best in a few years now on the paddock.

It will be interesting to learn the outcome of the Raelene Castle v Israel Falau meeting. Having carried Aust rugby for a few years now perhaps a return to RL might be possible?

After the injury he suffered last year, he won't be the same player as he was, and I didn't rate him then either.

Gawd .. she might sack him from the ARU and by punishing him, pack him off to the NRL Bulldogs .. !!

He would make a good fullback or centre with us .. !!

They're opening a can of worms here. Most of the Islander boys in League and Union including the All-Blacks are serious Christians like Israel. This could really blow up in the ARU's face and also have ramifications for the All-Blacks.

Our depth is good atm.
Those guys could all get offers from other clubs offering starting positions and seek releases tho.
They're all definitely first grade quality.

It's probably best that we still have a utility player on the bench, just in case somebody in the halves or dummy half gets injured.

Why the f*** aren’t we trying to replace lawrence. He’s way past his use by date. He is hopeless, too many costly errors and penalties. Naiqama is also hopeless. We need replacement for naiqama lawrence and a fullback

I love this post. I wonder if you have watched any games this year.

Sounds like he's never seen a game at all.

Yeah, like the most recent one.
