We get what we can this year coz we have to. Upgrading players or small priced up and comers. 2019 we go hard for the players we need. 2018 is just a small version of what is to come. Don't know how our current players will feel about Ivan's recent comments. So if they want on the bus pull a finger out and earn a contract. Been suffering like most for years but i seem to have this very unnatuarul calm about our team this year. Enjoy watching them even when we lose. Good things are coming. I can feel it in my old bones. Same feeling i had in 05\. Believe brothers n sisters

Kelly did not show much tonight another young guy with that word us supporters know to well PROMISE…Mbye is proven ,the club is at a stage that seasoned players need to be added to the roster ....the club has to bring in experienced and seasoned players or the rebuilding will last for another decade!
 
They are proven as average first graders, nothing more. Not the type of players that you should be throwing big money at. They are hardly marquee signings

I agree he is close to the best QLD hooker behind Cameron Smith. Won a premiership as a key player and would allow Liddle to develop. Granville is 29 if it’s a 2 year deal it’s a master stroke. Liddell backs him up and takes over.
 
Don't know why we would be chasing Granville, seems kind of pointless. Mbye on current form at fullback would be ok, still no superstar though and I can't see Cleary paying overs for either player.
 
Keep hearing that Cleary wont pay overs…well St George couldnt match what we paid Packer and you could argue that we paid overs for Reynolds. I like and support Cleary but if he wants a player on his roster he may and probably will, pay overs to get him.
 
We need to accept reality we are not yet a club gun players are going to come to. By 2019-20 that will change but we need players that will improve the team until then. Our squad is not a top 8 side when the whips start cracking as currently constructed. We need another specialist hooker, fullback, centre, back rower and intimidating prop.

We have flexibility so it will be interesting to see if Cleary can pull it off.

Agree but even from where we were 12 months ago we would have to be more desirable now.
 
Mbye would be good at the right price, no way I'd pay $900k for him. If bulldogs could pay maybe $250k so we could pay $650k I think that would be great. Granville would also be great for the right price, I'd pay $600k.

Mbye no more than 400k Granville 500k for 2 years. You can’t make any of these players our top salaries Reynolds who we paid a lot for is 650k per season but it has to be done at the time as there was a mass evacuation of the joint.
