Like I said on a another post, I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m happy with the Klemmer and Bateman signings (the IP and Api signings were Madge signings). He’s got arguably our best line up since we had Moses, Tedesco and Woods here (not to mention easily our best forward pack since Ellis was here) so I expect us to at least be competitive for the 8, even with the backs being underwhelming.

Considering no one else of significance wanted the job and the search was being led by Sheens, I won’t give Pascoe credit for that.

I believe we've recruited well up front. It all starts in the pack and with a successful hooker and hard working above-average forwards mixed with talented kids should result in some success.

I'm still out on Sheens. Hope we see something out of it, but could just as easily go the other way. Compared to potentially landing Ciraldo, I think Sheens was the better bet.

That is an interesting perspective. I think it has as much truth in it as stating the Ukraine hasn't actually been invaded by Russia.

It's another good decision from the mods in my eyes. Too many trolls coming onto this forum to peddle their nonsense because they aren't allowed to peddle it anywhere else on the Internet.

CB, my life is good atm,I have been employed after a few months off and I have turned the negative into positive,having said that,I mentioned the politics thread because it "CAUSED ANTAGONISM" and yet people are being somewhat the same way in other threads...thats the point Im making mate or are you talking from a mods point of view,free speech is one thing double standards are another,especially for the select few...

I am actually. Especially of his attacking style of play and of course the premiership. However, I refuse to have blind faith in him (or anyone frankly) given he hasn’t achieved anything of relevance in RL in over a decade and the shady nature in how he got the coaching gig.

Im happy to wait and see until the season is done but at the same time, I won’t sit here and watch his shills act like he is the second coming and can do no wrong when history shows otherwise. Not to mention some of the blatant lies and rewriting of history being peddled (like Api and IP being signed because of Sheens)

Same old suspects on here at the start of every year praising everyone and everything about the current state of the club. Then they go watch the AFL or something when we start losing again. 😂

Ciraldo certainly isn't a sheens style coach. The commentary/feedback from ciraldo at the time was we needed an experienced coach.

I think ciraldo was a Lee and pascoe pursuit for the best new shiny toy not a sheens want. Sheens wanted to implement his plans like teaching the same attacking based structures from Harold matts up. Bringing sheens in he can build the foundations and bring back some of our 05 to 11 identity. He also deals with the media well and is a very strategic senior manager. This time sheens has more resources and autonomy at his disposal and benji and sheens are on the same page. If all goes well hopefully they work well together foe the next 5 years.

Sheens was the best man yet again to take over the club only other guy would of been Flanagan. But comes with a lot of baggage and would of had to start from scratch.

You would have to offer him more then he is on at East to leave the offer would have to start at 1.6/1.7 million

He's on 800k and he's playing centre. Fullback and .1-1.2 is the best you can do. Unless you can' get TPAs

Good post Tony. Sheens has also mentored so many good coaches and obviously has that talent to identify a future good coach.

The issue is that he won't leave the Rorters because they are probably paying him double his salary under the table.

Funny that one of the members he was talking about couldn’t wait longer than 13 minutes after his post, to come straight in here and once again do exactly what he was presenting accusations of. Also unsurprising to see that Formerguest rushed to like this post.

It seems that the antagonism creeps into all the threads lately,but only the selected ones are satisfied....
Nothing wrong with having differing opinions,thats what life is all about,good discussions can be satisfying to all parties...Its the ones who think their opinion is the only one that matters are the ones who start becoming bitter and argumentative....

Hope Sheens plays mostly younger talent in this little mini pre-season comp the NRL is planning, with a sprinkle of talent like Asu, Pole, Tupou and Matamua. Don't need any injuries to key senior guys
