Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Now the last few spots have to be quality signings, no journeyman, no promising youngsters. We have experience coming out our nose, now time for a couple of players in their prime

My thoughts as well… Lets hope so

I hope it's the case. I'm not that confident though. See how it plays out with the remaining spots.

Benji playing again, great, what a wonderful well thought out signing, not, wow just when I thought we were on the way up

Even the scarecrow knocked Farah and Marshall back…

On 7 news just now, farah saying he'll be playing on next season.

Cool.

We just need another young back up now for a bit of depth to Liddle and Farah.

With these 2 confirmed, we need to look to secondrow and centre, and probably wing as well, maybe the young guy from the roosters could walk straight in to a centre spot

Yeah for sure. One class player in each position now.

I doubt if the young guy could walk straight in, needs to earn it.

It’s all about getting the balance right and at present we seem a little top heavy with guys at the back end of their careers. This season has been good but everyone knows we lack speed, size and grunt, till these things are addressed we will continue to struggle

I can kind of cop Farah with Liddle being unable to stay on the field, but Benji, surely he must be on a pie and coke a week contract, otherwise a waste of a top 30 spot

Neither Cronulla Bulldogs or Manly will sign big names players
All three are in cap trouble
Manly and Sharks are both likely to have to let players go
That's were teams like us come in
Roosters Melbourne Penrith Brisbane and St george must all be around cap full by now
Souths wouldn't be far off but need to replace crighton
Parramatta also have questions over their salary cap
All this has to work in our favour surely

Centre , Hard Running Back Rower , hard Nosed Prop for 2019
Then
Benji retires
Robbie Retires
Nathan Comes over
Plus we keep, getting rid of under performers from 2019 and replace them
Sounds so simple

Fans of both these players but it feels like a bandaid solution
The thing is you cant be dirty at them for playing on if they were asked but I would love to know who else they are chasing because both are at the high risk stage of their careers
At this point we suck at recruitment

Farah is certainly a bandaid for Liddle to either come good in 2019 with longevity on the field or he has to go and we recruit replacement hooker for 2020\. Marshall will hopefully be in the reserve too marking time as Reynolds takes over at 5/8 at start of 2019\. Hopefully…....................

If either Liddle or Reynolds goes down for extended periods of time it might be asking too much of Farah and Marshall, a further utility player in the ranks NRL capable would be very useful. I know we have Mbye but I'd rather leave him at fullback.

As we are light on in the centres does anyone think Benji could play there with grub fit. Would definitely be able to handle it defensively

Benji played centre in Luke Brooks NRL debut, but the legs are a lot older now.

No thanks he is not a centre and to be honest if Reynolds is fit he wont be in first grade

We are short on backrowers. With our current strategy, maybe we can convince heighington to play one more year.

Dad’s army

Hethrington from Penrith is too young. Wests Tigers need to spend all the rest of their CAP money on worn out forwards over 32 years of age but with good past reputations (LOL).

Otherwise follow Cronulla's example with buying good but very expensive players. The NRL has stated that it's all obove board.
