We are short on backrowers. With our current strategy, maybe we can convince heighington to play one more year.

Dad’s army

Heighnington from Penrith is too young. Wests Tigers need to spend all the rest of their CAP money on worn out forwards over 32 years of age but with good past reputations (LOL).

Otherwise follow Cronulla's example with buying ecpensive players. The NRL has stated that it's all obove board.

Hetherington?

As we are light on in the centres does anyone think Benji could play there with grub fit. Would definitely be able to handle it defensively

Benji played centre in Luke Brooks NRL debut, but the legs are a lot older now.

He would do less miles at center . Would probably struggle with the dirty carries though

88kgs at 6'3? Could put on an extra 5.

Probably weighs a bit less for a bit more pace, after all people do complain that our backline doesn't have enough pace.

Two points

1\. it would appear young Cleary isnt coming

2\. People are putting too much faith in this squad number thing. The Pom pointed out we could tap a couple of lesser name top 30 players on the head and open up a few more spots.

We could have as many as 5 spots still up for grabs.

So here's my roster for next season so far:

1\. Moses Mbye
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Esan Marsters
4\. Mahe Fonua
5\. Corey Thompson
6\. Josh Reynolds
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. Russell Packer
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Ben Matulino
11\. Chris Lawrence
12\. Elijah Taylor
13\. Matt Eisenhuth
14\. Benji Marshall
15\. Alex Twal
16\. Josh Aloiai
17\. Robbie Rochow
18\. Michael Chee Kam
19\. Chris McQueen*
20\. Tyson Gamble
21\. Jacob Liddle
22\. Luke Garner
23\. Oliver Clark
24\. Paul Momirovski
25.
26.
27.
28.
29.
30.

Not sure if the list is fully accurate or not.

So we're losing Tui, Kev, MWZ, Sue, Grant and Godinet from our current top 30 and McQueen might be moved on too.

That's 3 outside backs, 2 forwards and a hooker/utility.

I think 3 of our development players move into our top 30 next season. That leaves only 3 spots left unless McQueen, Rochow etc are being moved on to open up other spots.
Someone can correct me if I have it wrong on the development players.

Benji at centre? What are people on. Same people said McQueen to centre earlier. They're both shot ducks. Benji has run the ball 3 times all season and struggled immensely in defence. Benji is very selfish in re-signing, but then he was given the option…
I'd think there's still 5 spots available. Hopefully 4 top line players we can splash our cash on, and Robson as a replacement for Godinet

May have been mentioned already in this monster of a thread, but apparently Tigers have Trent Merrin on their radar.

Someone in the know. Any truth to this?

Well Cleary brought Merrin over to Penrith but then got sacked before he got there. Could happen.

5 years past his best footy so he meets our criteria.

Brooks is free to negotiate in Nov isn't he?

Benji playing again, great, what a wonderful well thought out signing, not, wow just when I thought we were on the way up

Even the scarecrow knocked Farah and Marshall back…

I can kind of cop Farah with Liddle being unable to stay on the field, but Benji, surely he must be on a pie and coke a week contract, otherwise a waste of a top 30 spot

Not less than 300k I reckon

What possibly gave you the idea we were on the way up?

The NRL ladder for one thing. Your own eyes for another.

:crazy :crazy

All I see on the ladder is another year of no finals. What do you see?

As I understand it he's on less than that this year.

You are probably right, I just don’t want to see Grub on the bench so Benji can play
