Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Tigers gonna miss Hastings. He’s class.

Start pile on.
I liked Hastings!

Obviously more to it than what we saw as fans, but I just found him easy to like.

Still, he is the epitome of the Pascoe comment about making tough decisions and apologising to no one, and objectively (although I would've let another half go to the knights... ), I think it was the right move.

Now I mention it, I believe he said that on behalf of the club as a whole in the context of making the hard choices on players in order to achieve on field success; for which I don't believe any apologies should be made.

But sign Moses and I'll be knocking his door down every day for an apology - for the entire ridiculous length of the contract!

Okay, not really. But please tigers leave little btch at the eels....

I agree Ponga had no room and made some half chances out of nothing. Without Ponga Knights don’t score a try. He had nothing to work with as the Knights overall were terrible
I thought it was a decent game of footy. Both teams committed to defending - unlike their performances last year. Pongha is their marquee man he needs to get the milking out of his game under the new rules or he will be watching from the sidelines uninjured more than once.

Criticism of Hastings is so unfair

Publicly stated he wanted to stay at the club but got pushed out the door so we could get Klemmer a year early

Every time he put a tigers jersey on he tried his very hardest to win the game for us. Unlike a lot of our players last year

Was great at interacting with our the fans

Don’t hate a player juts because our coaching staff didn’t want him here. if he had resigned at this club we all would have been thrilled

Pretty sure he went to Knights for more $$$ good luck to him but he is to slow to break the line in the NRL

Sometimes when you start judging a player who has left your club your view is a little less one eyed and you end up seeing the real value of that player.

I find it funny to see people bagging the bloke that was in our top 3 players in almost every game he played for WT.

Probably the same people that think it’s Potter’s, JT’s, Maguire’s, Benji’s, and Robbie’s fault that Brooks has only had 1 good season.
The fact that he was top 3 in our club is probably the reason why we have a wooden spoon to show for our 2022 campaign.

the guy is a decent footballer IMO nothing more

Don’t think people hate Hastings & what you said isn’t true either. Think some though just see Hastings playing style benefits differently. He is a good player just over controls things and lacks speed to be very effective is my view.

I hope he does well at the Knights he does give his all and did for us, if most players did the same we wouldn’t have come last. It’s why will watch the Knights this year because I hope he will click with Ponga.

He left because he didn’t want to play in the best position the coaching staff thought for the team which was lock & wanted to be halfback. Knights offered him a halfback spot and significant pay bump as well. He jumped. Him playing lock was happening well before Klemmer talk happened. He didn’t want to play lock. He also jumped within 2 weeks (talks/contract drafted, signed, registered) whilst having 1yr still to go. That’s a very short time for someone who wanted to stay & could’ve. Don’t think for a moment it was all 1 way.
