Diesel and dust is my fav Oils record.
As for best aussie album go check out Dallas Crane self titled album.
It’s up there.
Oh yeah back to the topic, no to Merrin, I don’t have any distinct reasons just don’t think he adds much to a forward pack these days.

I'm embarrassed , never heard of Dallas Crane …....good eh ??

Dont feel embarrassed Happy, they never quite reached the heights of INXS or ACDC but on a national scale they were on par with Powderfinger, You am i, Silverchair and The Living End.
A straight up and down rock n roll band from melbourne.
And here's a little fact for ya, the lead Singer/guitarist (Dave Larkin)actually designed the current club emblem on the Melbourne demons Jersey.

Actually had a listen to DC's album last night after your comment Balmainian…what a cracker. Don't know how I missed that!

You Am I are one of my faves, saw them at Narrabeen RSL a couple of months ago....they rock harder now than they did 20 years ago & thats saying a lot!

Ha - never expected to see a discussion about Dallas Crane on here. On rotation in our car for an age till all three sons became fans too. Last saw them at the Newtown Social Club - the old Sando - before it closed down.

Sorry Geo & Co. but I wouldn't be putting the red marker through Curtis Rona's name just yet. He's currently stuck in NRC (level above Shute Shield) with the Sydney Rays as he hasn't made the cut for the Wallabies' rugby championship campaign. Furthermore, his position of outside centre (#13) is stacked with Matt Toomua coming back to Oz. He's got Reece Hodge, Tevita Kuridrani, Samu Kerevi and Jordan Pataia all ahead of his In the pecking order.

The truth is, I don't know if he'll make the 32 man squad for the rugby world cup in 2019\. When you factor in the above, and the fact that he's played with Reynolds, Mbye and Corey Thompson @ the dogs - his signature wouldn't be as far fetched as some on here would imply. He literally has half a season of super rugby with the Waratahs (where he's not even guarenteed a start next year) with new recruits & a season left on his contract. I'm hopeful that he will ask for a release sooner rather than later to have a homecoming of sorts @ the world famous Wests tigers. Here's hoping anyways.

well we are down to 4 teams, so unless any further signing are coming from the top 4 sides, were are the reported signing that we were told would come once there team was knocked out of the semis. or was that all bull.

Now that would really be some story if indeed he did sign with us.

Bit of a worry that he can't make the Wallabies. They're hopeless.

Think Rona will definitely be on the market sooner rather than later.Cheika has boxed him in as a Super Rugby player..no more and no less..with a long line of injured players well in front of him…and he really didn't take the opportunities when they were presented.
so barring a miracle(and a bunch more injuries...or fighting with the spectators!) hes unlikely to wear the Wallaby jersey again
No point in sticking around any longer in Rugby IMO
Having said that,Rona had a very average year for the Waratahs, but hes certainly way ahead of anything we have in the centres excepting Marsters..and we are very desperate now Kevs gone(we may have been so when he was here!)

I'd say it's got a lot more to do with the bureaucracy in union. He has players ahead of him that have been developing in that position for years - and he hasn't been in the game long. I'd say that his club folding (western force) exacerbated the situation too because he was forced to find a new home with another franchise under a new coach -with very little turnaround.

He played @ Concord last week and had a solid game in a very average team.

0.55 + 2:25 secs. Nice passages of play

Feki would be an amazing get. Him and nofa would go great guns for us.

A fit Merrin at the right price would be okay. He’s had too much drama at the panthers and I reckon a new club might do him good.

How soon we forget Cory Thompson's efforts this year..

https://youtu.be/ufqlbaurJPw

I love Corey Thompson , the guy is a legend and plays above his weight. But you look at what some wingers are doing today with the metres out of dummy half and the tries they are scoring, Thompson will never give you that. Yes he’s safe and yes he’s consistent, but wing has become a very important position these days.

Build the club from the lower grades. We have a good recruitment officer in the club now and we have to scour the country areas for the next De Belin, Yeo and Frizzell.

Well said. He literally has half a season to impress Cheika (due to the shortened super rugby/rugby championship format for world cup 2019). Not much chance to crack the squad. Curtis already knows this. Returning to league @ Tigers is/was his contingency plan. Big call I know - but watch this space.

If he can’t make the Wallabies side we don’t want him. I reckon I could get a start at the moment!!😜

Apart from cap money
Is there a limit on how many players we can sign
Is it capped at 30 players

Hypothetically
If we have 28 players now and sign 3 more it puts us at 31
Do we need to offload a player or can we have 31 on our books

We have 6 months before our season starts again
Do we stay patient and wait to see who comes on the market

And how long do we wait
Until after pre season training starts

The earlier they join
The more they gel with the team
Sign to early and we may miss a Gem

What would you do

Why is there a lot of posts in here to do with Music ?? I love the music you guys are talking about just as much as you guys, but maybe you should start a music folder.

Agreed. Let's keep it about League please.

They once played at a local grandfinal night in Newcastle.
