You have a 22 year old ready to take a leap in Sullivan , you have the gun junior waiting in the wings , needing more seasoning , and just off in the distance you have Galvin , AD and really far off you have Large and those gun halves at Balmain not named Conti .
If we are serious about building from the ground up , you have to and I can’t emphasise the word HAVE in this situation enough , you HAVE to have an old head around the traps , who on his best day is good enough to steer you around , but can very easily , no politics , get punted to Reggie’s if Fainu is absolutely gunning it .
If you sign a Cogger , he’s barely a first grade player , spending years shitting the bed at Newcastle and the bulldogs , who’s now won a premiership with the panthers . So he’s gonna have an ego , and want to be given the keys . So what happens when he gets dropped ? Chaos ! It’s so risky for not much reward in my opinion . Benji is right on this one !

Completely agree here. All the talk about Fulton being some kind of guru...he had ties with Westfields Sports, that's it!

Also agree about Sezer - he's the calming influence you need with a young team and another young half. He's taken a team to a gf before. He's tough, no nonsense...I like the signing. Clearly not a long-term thing, but the best possible short term option we could have signed.

Bull shit dude ! You don’t get to first grade being humble . He may be a good bloke , but humble , in a halfback is a death warrant . Even someone like Luke brooks the epitome of a “humble good bloke” is anything but .
Some of the shit said on here is arm chair I swear . I never played a game of football in my life where the halfback was humble .
Of course the star halfback recruited from a premiership team would have an issue playing reserve grade for the wooden spoon team . How is this debatable ?

I think by humble he means level-headed and would set a good example. The problem with Brooks is that he tended to panic under pressure and responsibility. Sezer won't - he may not step 4 players to score once every 13 games like Brooks did, but he'll steer the team around the park, he'll get the forwards organised, he'll give early, good ball to backs.

I feel the silence out of the club atm is deafening. So a big 2-3 weeks of news ahead I feels.

With most of the boys (except rep duty players) due back to training next week (not long after 1 Nov), I'm expecting a few WT media releases with this first paragraph ... WT have agreed to release TBC to take up an opportunity at another club.

WT are delighted to announce that TBC has extended his contract until the end of the 2025 or 2026 season.

I'm hoping the names Jake Simpkin, Asu Kepaoa, David Nofoaluma, Stefano Utoikamanu, Junior Tupou & Shawn Blore replace the TBCs above.

Of the above, I am happy for Simpkin to go (I like him but we have Api and Talyn), Blore hasn't shown enough in my opinion - I'd be backing Laulili over him. Asu can go, Nofa can stay only due to a lack of alternatives.
Tupou can stay and play centre, and Stefano can stay, but to be honest I don't think he lives up to the hype just yet.

How would Welsby go at centre? Maybe a roaming centre like Turbo does at origin. I guess it's a question of whether he would want to come play center at the worst team in the NRL...
