Staines re-injured his hamstring already. Only young and they might fix it up but having a lot of issues with it already, might make him put his asking price down a little.

A certain fullback running around for the Storm had big problems with his hamstrings while at the WT. With the right rehab he has transformed himself into one of the best fullbacks in the game right now. Staines has youth on his side and can certainly get stronger over the next couple of years. Just needs the right rehab and strength program.

Our center of excellence will fix that 🙂

I wonder what many of the forum members will call the Centre of Excellence 5 years after it is operational

Not sure Hap - think they might call it the Centre of Excellence.

We will see ...hope it is a massive success ...but we have had our fingers in a lot of pots over the years with little to cheer about

Understand but 500k for a guy who has played 1.5 games is over the top.. Understand he has scored 5 tries but even Jennings could of scored most of them.

Judging by our new recruitment process we wont be offering anywhere near that and rightly so. I would be happy for 350k but hey if there no one else due to missing JAC maybe 400k.

Yep Melbourne got papz on cheap coin Staines wanting big $$$ too risky when hasn’t proved he can stay on the field yet

Guys mentioning Hastings , all I can say is that ESL is at the same level as QRL CC cup. The play the balls are slower the expansion easier , the impact is less . The general speed is slower , even despite the ease of which a line break is made . The NRL is more brutal yet a million times faster. Which means the players themselves are superior athletes. All you can do is play what’s in front of you , but I wouldn’t be offering the world.

ESL quality is terrible and it seems to be getting worse.

If he was that good, you’d think at least one NRL side would be all over him, given the amount of garbage that clubs serve up in the halves every week.

ESL still has quality players but they’re almost always forwards. Rarely do outside backs from England go well, they’ve had some great forwards come over and kill it here though and I hope we keep an eye on England recruitment wise.

That's an ambit claim. Like the JAC initial figure its grossly inflated. If he wants to play regular NRL, WTs is the team for him. We need him as well.

Bayley sironen is off contract next year

I never really rated him when he was with us, seemed like a plodder but he’s a starter for souffs now and pumps out pretty good stats

Do we consider him? or have we burnt too many bridges with the Siros?

Why not? It's what we do isn't it? Let them go then buy them back for more? Thank god we have new people and strategy in recruitment now.

Is another second rower a priority though?

Saw McQueen go through a gap at what looked like JAC speed over there.

Joining his brother at Manly, apparently.

Obviously not saying we should go full throttle and sign them...but they are much, much more complete players now

Apart from big Luciano, our 2nd rower stocks look pretty dog meat. Garner isn’t consistent enough

No, it won't. Equipment is only part of the solution. You've got to have smart trainers and conditioners that can devise management plans to suit a player's strengths and weaknesses and develop the players to reach their peak physical condition.

Do we have such trainers currently? I doubt it. We largely look very unfit.

i don't disagree mate. I think it proves though sometimes in the past we as a club and certainly some on this forum are far too quick to want to get rid of players instead of a bit of patience and development, particularly young forwards whose bodies often don't reach peak until late 20's .

Damn, maybe we should have persisted with Kyle Lovett ?
