Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sad at the present moment we have only Tamou as a confirmed signing for 2021. Please WT Board give us fans some more signings otherwise 2021 is going to be aanother lost year.

I noticed the Bulldogs have let one of our old players Jessie Sue go. Lucky to pick up a club in 2021. Too many head knocks and only played a handful of good games.

I really hope we give Madden a real shot in the pre season at half back if we don't get Burton.

Don’t forget Stefano. At least we are chasing JAC

We also signed Stefano, Blore, and AJ. Blore and AJ just happened to be released a year early.

We've signed so many players for next year that we are struggling for roster spots for signings/re-signings.

Schuster would be unreal, but yah just can't see how Manly can stuff it up that badly.

Humphrey’s is their CEO, simple.

Heard the other day Humphrey's son is supposedly an up n coming half in the Manly system may see FG next year

I think we have built as well as possible under current circumstances for 2021. Will we improve? I hope so. If the off season somehow sees the likes of Reynolds or Packer move on, my expectations will rise. Interesting to see what we might do post 1 November when we can buy for the 2022 season as plenty more cash will be in the pocket.

Im very nervous about 2021. It seems to be these days you need to improve just to tread water. At this stage the potential improvements for next year are Tamou & Stefano with hope that some of the young ones might step up. Not too exciting.

Why you nervous, what’s the worst thing that will happen, Miss the finals again? Like we’re not used to that.

Having plenty of cash to splash is one thing, getting quality players to a club that hasn’t made finals in 9 years is another matter

Schuster’s been blessed by the football gods - he’s got some talent that kid.

You’d jump at any chance of recruiting him.

I don't get the constant references to Packer and JRey moving on.

Its not in their interests to do so.

Im sure there will be a line for tickets to their final game next year to farewell them, get in early..

It's interesting, there's not much difference between Talau and Schuster. Both have similar builds and skillsets.

We immediately took it to turn Talau into a wing/centre whereas Manly have left Schuster in the halves. I don't see Schuster as a long term 5/8 though

It is in their interests if they are moving on to a first grade side elsewhere and not out of pocket. Might prolong their first grade careers.

Did the club ever play Talau at 5/8 in NSW Cup last year ? I only ever saw him in the centres. Sounds like he played a lot of 5/8 through the juniors, and also on the most recent junior Kangaroo tour of the UK with Madden as the half I believe.

I agree, we gotta improve to stay where we were this year, and I feel that with Grant leaving, and Brooks having to run most of our attack, I'm not sure our lineup next year is as good as this year as it stands. It's pretty scary.

Not having a go at you Fletch but I think the whole “he played all his juniors at 5/8” argument is a furphy. In juniors the big/strong/fast/good kid gets thrown the 6 jersey. As they get older the chaff gets separated.

Genuine question, I don’t know the answer, where did Talau play in Flegg? Remember Curtis Sironen was a 6. I don’t see 5/8 in Talau.

TT Played 5/8 in bulldogs junior teams

Talau doesn’t strike me as a 5/8. Haven’t really got to see him ball playing but he doesn’t look mobile enough to be in the halves. Maybe that’s because he’s bulked up so much though.
