Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There’s a few players that I’ve seen debut this year that have got a lot of talent and are severely UNDERRATED! Andrew Davey from Parramatta, Chris Lewis and Tom Eisenhuth are 3 forwards in particular! These are the type of players to build clubs around! All three are super fit, aggressive, big bodies well over 6ft 3’ and 100kgs and defend like their life depends on it! Plus have a super offload game! Davey is a carpenter turned footy player, Lewis is a school teacher! These are the “diamond in the rough” players that provide exceptional value for what they do week in week out and are the key to winning premierships! Would be going hard after signing these 3 players! 🔥🔥🤙🏽

What's the deal with RTS? Articles about him maybe switching to union. Thought he was on a massive long term warriors deal.
Surely being in the NZ camp, Madge would have a crack if he was unsigned?

Wants to go back to NZ

ahk gotcha.

But Warriors are based in Australia now
So NZ needs a team of their own
Tigers can now be relocated to NZ and RTS can join the Tigers
We will even throw in the NZ coach
Its a win win win
Everyone is happy

Talking about coaches Walters confirmed as Broncos Coach what does that mean to us.
Will his son join him after the following season?
Grant where will he end up?

As others have suggested with current players available on the Market hold tight with no more signing we don't want to pay overs for dud players like have in the past.

I hope he likes Mbye
He will want to bring in a player or two of his own
I wouldn't even mind a Mbye Milford trade/loan
They are both on the outer and on similar $
Couldn't hurt to try
A change of club could do wonders for both of them

Good point Milford is an Ex fullback???
Although i hear he is quite Lazy and Madge would change that aspect of his game.

Looking at the presentation to Benji & Chris last night it looked like all the squad was there a lot of young and unfamiliar faces amongst them photos were taken and should appear on the WT'S website

I know we have a few development said guys coming into the 30...kei and Bradley not sure who else tho

Kei isn’t confirmed yet. Bradley, Cini, Madden and Simpkin are all listed to be in our top 30 next season

We’re also reported to be losing Garner so could open up another spot

Damn having both Cini and Bradley in our 30 doesn’t sound great

Absolute joke Cini and Bradley anywhere need the 30

Pretty sure it's in their contract, to go to Top 30 when development is over.

Its an aspect of the development contracts I really don't like, it means you have to drop players from your squad every year to allow the players on development contracts to move up.

6. AD
7. Brooks

I reckon that could be the best backline we have had since Tedesco was here. I’m very excited for 2021.

God I hope Packer gives up and retires, hopefully we start engaging in more club options when creating contracts with risky signings

Packer and Reynolds , $1.5m tied up with absolutely zero return. I really thought Reynolds was the kind of guy who wouldn’t sit on the sideline earning his pay cheque and would want out to earn his money. I don’t think the tigers could be any clearer that he’s not required.

I agree but it also means clubs are less likely to churn through juniors if they have to make more commitment, give it a properly thought-out plan.

I.e. if you take on a development you'll want to be fairly sure about it.

And then if it works out for both player and club, I assume it's very valuable to have invested 2-4 years in a development player, in your system, even if they weren't originally a junior.

I do agree with that but it sure adds another layer of complexity to managing your roster. Basically on average you have 7 players coming off contract each year and 2-4 of the spots need to be reserved for development players, that makes difficult once you re-sign a couple of players to upgrade your squad significantly.

AJ and Tommy played their best games. AJ is slowly getting up to the pace and knowing where he has to be when the ball comes his way.

They are improving every week but their errors are killing us. Hopefully they’ll be better for the experience next year because their attack is promising.

We simply can’t have them both in the side if they’re averaging 2 errors a game though.

You're expecting polished first graders but you're not going to get that with inexperienced players. I'd look at the bigger names on the sidelines who have failed to deliver as the reason for our falling away.

No I’m saying they’re both rookies and while you can accept one making errors, you can’t have 2 or 3 of them unless you’re happy to plan for 2023. It’s more to do with not selecting them all in the same team than the individuals. We only have to see how the Broncos team of high potential rookies went.

The Mbye, Packer, Benji, Brooks underperformance has been talked about in other threads but they aren’t making 3 errors a game. To have any chance in the current competition you have to control possession.

On that basis how could you accept Joey Leilua in our team? He is good for a couple of crucial errors and a brain explosion? I would rather play Talau at right centre. I'm sure Kepaoa and Talau will be significantly improved next year.

BJ might be underperforming but he’s made less errors than AJ in 14 games vs AJ’s 5. Similarly Talau has made twice as many errors as BJ in less games. I’d rather have Talau at right centre as well but not if he can’t cut out the errors.

The data speaks for itself.

Commitment wise my 90 year old mother puts in more than BJ.

Only because she didn't have Benji playing inside her.

Milford is the exact kind of player I would hate the club to sign. We don’t need any more of these lazy, uninspiring fellas chewing up our cap.

In attack maybe, but thats a nightmare when the opposition is in our 20m.

Both AJ and Nofa rushing in from the wing, BJ getting no one. And if they don’t score immediately, they’ll bomb to either AJ or Mbye and either score or get a repeat set from an error.

Sorry, this season has killed me.

If we get JAC, then MBYE to centres and BJ left out all together. He needs a massive pre season to show he deserves a spot. Needs to take a leaf out of his brothers book.

Milford is the exact kind of player who needs to sit out of rugby league for a year to realise how good he has it. Such a wasted talent. The dude is overweight but thinks he is all good.
