“I don’t want to say too much about what went on, but the Tigers deal was not as high as other clubs.”

Cannot recall another player talking crap like this.

Well, I imagine the discussions with the Tigers would have been done by his manager, not the player. So, who knows what the manager told him the offer from the Tigers was? He may well be stating the truth as told to him by his manager.

And, lets face it, apart from Kent, Hooper, Rothfield, Ikin and the so-called "journos" of NRL, there is no bigger blight on the game than player managers.

Nothing wrong with Ikin, Kent, Hooper, Toovey and Benji on 360. The dribblers on 9 are getting money under false pretences.

Toovey and Benji have some credibilty through their on-field careers and achievements. I don't have issues with them.

It's the professional NRL-nuffie "journalists" such as Kent and Rothfield and Hooper, who seem more intent on wanting us to believe "I know better than the others", that I despise. With a passion. Add Michael Chammas and his cringeworthy support for Benji and ongoing bagging of WT to that list as well.

Collectivey, I see them as a scourge on the best interests and future of the game, in my opinion.

As for the Ch 9 mob .....? I haven't watched any of their NRL coverage or shows in about the last 5 years so I can't comment. No matter how keen I am for a footy fix, if Ch 9 is the only option, I go without. So I don't watch the GF or SOO. Couldn't care less.

Kent did actually play - he also played 1 game in first grade, something most of us on here have never done.

Well that entitles him to be a smarmy opportunist then, doesn't it? I think if you search far enough Rothfield played in park footy in 1948. So what?? How does one game of first grade give Kent or any other of those nuffies any authority or credibility to earn income in offering their thoughts on the game?

Alot of journalists in all sports weren't professionals. My fav UFC pod casters never fought. I don't think it's important. It's important you are good though hah.

When was the last time any of our middle forwards made a line break outside of Aloiai?

McIntyre for a try off the bench in the middle

this is just strange.... We seem to be very quite at the moment regarding recruitment when other clubs are starting to announce resigning etc... It has a real weird feeling and even the @The_Pom isn't around....
When does our 2021 preseason start does anyone know?

So am I right in assuming we still have 6 spots to fill for 2021 ....

We actually have 28 players in the NRL squad for next season based on the following assumptions:
1) current development players, Bradley, Cini, Madden, Simpkin all move into the NRL squad, and Hoffman remains as a development player as does Kei.
(Note: not sure what the options are for club with dev players- Bradley and Cini may not be upgraded perhaps).
2) the players listed as going are the only ones leaving at this stage (eg Garner remains at WTs) and Seyfarth and Sam M are re-signed.
3) only Additions to squad are Momo, Stefano and Tamou at this point.

I won't be surprised if they shelve the Development squads if Covid is still a concern by the time 2021 season kicks off

Could be right. Since we are finishing this season late, next season is not that far away and Covid will still probably be around.
Tough on guys under development contracts though as what would happen to them? Hopefully ISP will be on and they can move into those squads if their club doesn’t offer them NRL spots.

I doubt they will get rid of development contracts.

No leaks is a good thing. The Pom said we are chasing a few guys so hopefully that’s true. All year we’ve not heard much about the guys we’ve signed they kinda came out of the blue.

Expectations is we will have a couple of signings and that’s it because Our exisiting Duds won’t leave, hoping the off season surprises me and we will off load a lot more but I doubt it

I’m glad we aren’t yet. If we are after players who’s teams are in the finals then it will be quite for the next 4-6 weeks. Tamou was done before finals, JAC needs more time and won’t conclude until off season. Burton and Staines won’t be done until after the season now.

If my memory serves me correctly @THE_POM took like a 4 month hiatus or something earlier in the year, before popping in every week or so for over about a month...hope we aren’t waiting till the new year for his next drop in.

The constant anticipation is kinda thrilling cause you just don’t know when it’ll be when he surfaces next, but at the same time it’s a tease but definitely not a bad tease. Love @THE_POM’s work and always appreciate anything offered up!

if still with us, Packer and JR shall have no break, and immediately hit
sand dunes, from 5 AM to 11 AM with 10/1 minutes run/break! Our ex winger Happa can chase them and provide a required stimulation!

No signing yet. They are offering peanuts at this stage
Less money than this year and he is only just above minimum wage at the moment .
So hopefully they can get something sorted because there are a couple of clubs keen as!

I get the tactic re salary cap management but surely McIntrye is worth a contract the same or slightly increased from his previous.
The tigers have roughly 1.4 available 2022 year from Reynolds and Packer moving on (replaced with min wage players.)
Surely we can backload a couple of the players for 2022 if we are short cap space in 2021.

If we lose McIntyre I’ll be fuming
How good he has looked in a struggling team, you can only imagine how he would play in a dominant pack

I know we're rebuilding, and have big salary cap issues, but if we unearth really good youngsters on low money, and can't even keep them, well then we will never improve.
